
1. Engelberth Construction employees donated $5,500 to the Friendly Kitchen as part of their 2022 charitable campaign to help provide food security for those struggling in their community. A check was presented to Friendly Kitchen Executive Director Valerie Guy by Engelberth staff on Feb. 28.

2. Families in Transition raised more than $74,000 over 10 days of charitable gaming at Filotimo Casino Sportsbook and Restaurant in Manchester. Proceeds will help the nonprofit to continue offering safe, affordable housing for those in need in New Hampshire. Additionally, Housing Benefits raised almost $65,000, and the NH Coalition to End Homelessness raised over $62,000 through their respective charitable gaming events.

3. he Bangor Savings Bank Foundation has donated $27,000 to five New Hampshire-based nonprofits to award their efforts for enhancing their communities. Nonprofits awarded include: NH Audubon, the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital Association, the PLUS Company, Inc., Aspire Living & Learning, Inc., and Milford Lions Charities.

4. Representative Ann McLane Kuster joined community members and first responders at the Nashua Fire Department to honor the career and retirement of Fire Chief Brian Rhodes, who’s been with the department since 1987 and was appointed chief in 2018. In his tenure, Rhodes oversaw Nashua’s successful Safe Stations intervention program, which uses fire stations as a designated safe environment for individuals seeking assistance or treatment for substance use disorder. 5. Friends of Aine, a Manchester-based nonprofit that provides bereavement support services for grieving children and families, is actively seeking volunteers for their upcoming Spring Series. Volunteers are needed to help with curriculum-based activities and peer-to-peer support groups for children ages 4-18 and their families. Training will be provided. 6. Franklin Savings Bank awarded NH Forward a $10,000 grant to assist with the group’s manufacturing apprenticeship program to students at Franklin High School). Students in the program will receive on-the-job-training with a Franklin-based manufacturer while pursuing their associates degree. Their tuition will also be fully paid for by the company along with a stipend to cover their expenses.
