1. Merrimack-based manufacturer Fimbel Garage Doors is commemorating its 100th anniversary of business this year. More than 400 people gathered at the company’s newly remodeled Merrimack showroom on June 8 to celebrate the milestone, including Fimbel staff, leadership of the Greater Merrimack-Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce and community business members. The event featured prizes, charitable donations and a demonstration of an adaptive racecar by New Hampshire organization Adaptable Driving Experience.
2. Seacoast food insecurity nonprofit Gather broke a record for its largest annual food drive, “Fill the Hall,” during this year’s fundraising effort. The 10th annual event, held at The Music Hall in Portsmouth, raised more than $117,000, four times the amount raised in last year’s drive. Donations totaled more than 10,000 pounds of food, which will support Gather’s Meals for Kids program, providing nutritious meals to children when schools are not in session.
3. Manchester-based Waypoint received a $65,000 check from the M&T Bank Charitable Foundation on May 16, supporting the nonprofit’s homeless youth initiatives for New Hampshire children. 4. Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover awarded a $10,000 community benefit grant for the third consecutive year to the Alliance for Community Transportation (ACT), which provides community transit to seniors and adults with disabilities in southeastern New Hampshire. This type of grant allows ACT to access additional federal funding. ACT booked more than 36,000 trips for over 700 people last year, and the organization expects to book 41,000 trips this year.
5. Pasta producer Lilly’s Fresh Pasta is moving operations from Everett, Massachusetts, to New Hampshire with support from the NH Business Finance Authority and Mascoma Bank. The company acquired and is renovating a 50,000-square-foot production facility at 299 Pepsi Rd. in Manchester, opening in fall 2025. Lilly and Giovanni D’Alelio founded Lilly’s in 1986, today producing pasta wholesale to distributors and restaurants nationwide. 6. The Delta Dental Institute released its 2023 Community Impact Report on June 17, revealing an investment of over $106 million in community programs nationwide. Of that, Northeast Delta Dental has invested over $4.7 million to health and wellness initiatives in Northern New England. Those include the PLUS Company’s dental health education program, pictured, benefiting over 400 adult clients with disabilities in the Granite State.
7. Rochester-based community credit union HRCU is opening a new full-service branch office in Greenland, New Hampshire, this fall, in a new mixed-use building at 603 Portsmouth Ave. The office will be open Monday-Saturday, with a 24-hour drive-up ATM and nightly drop-off for businesses. HRCU will be the first financial institution serving Greenland in 20 years.
