MEREDITH: Soul Models — a nonprofit organization serving middle school-aged girls in the Seacoast area of southern Maine and New Hampshire — recently received a $3,000 sponsorship from Meredith Village Savings Bank and a $5,000 sponsorship from the Drew Cepp Scholarship Fund that will support the nonprofit’s upcoming summer camps, offered free in the towns of Portsmouth, NH, and Kittery and York, Maine.

PLYMOUTH: Plymouth State University (PSU) recently hosted its ninth annual Students, Scholarships and Service Dinner, which raised more than $53,000 for PSU Alumni Association student scholarships and the Ray’s Angels scholarship. In addition, PSU Professor Emerita Rebecca Weeks Sherrill More received the Raymond S. Burton Public Service Award for her dedication to being a lifelong educator and historian, with a passion for education, public service and the community at large. Northeast Delta Dental President and CEO Tom Raffio was also honored with the Robert Frost Contemporary American Award for best exemplifying the values of individuality, hard work, humanitarianism and devotion.
NASHUA: ECL Entertainment has named its new charitable gaming venue in the former Sears building at Pheasant Lane Mall to “The Nash Casino.” The casino will feature a two-story sports entertainment complex with two full bars, fine dining and grab-ngo options, and non-gambling games. The project is expected to create approximately 600 to 700 new jobs, and generate approximately $24 million annually for over 100 local nonprofits. The Casino plans to open this winter.

CONCORD: Leadership New Hampshire (LNH) has appointed Will Stewart as its next executive director, charged with overseeing the organization’s strategic direction, program development and financial management. Previously, he was the executive director of Stay Work Play New Hampshire, and before that was the president and CEO of the Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber and VP of economic development and advocacy at the Greater Manchester Chamber.
