IN a recent Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Voices survey, 78 percent of small business owners say the economy has gotten worse in the past three months. Despite challenges, 65 percent say they are optimistic about the financial trajectory of their business this year.

AMONG those small business owners who responded to the survey, 89 percent say broader economic trends, such as inflation, supply chain issues and workforce challenges, are having a negative impact on their business. As a result, 65 percent have increased the prices of their goods and services. More than half, 53 percent, of those small businesses said they only raised prices by less than ten percent.

NEW Hampshire ranked No. 7 on WalletHub’s study of the best and worst school systems in the country. Massachusetts ranked the best state for public schooling, with Vermont and Maine coming in at No. 11 and 12 respectively. The study analyzed quality of education and child safety to determine the rankings, including math and reading scores among other testing scales.

AROUND seven in 10 U.S. journalists (69 percent) say Twitter is the social media site they use most or second most for their job, based on an analysis conducted by the Pew Research Center. Twitter is followed by Facebook at 52 percent and, far lower on the list, by Instagram (19 percent), LinkedIn (17 percent) and YouTube (14 percent).

OVERALL, Facebook is the most widely used social media site for news, with 31 percent of U.S. adults saying they go there regularly for news. YouTube is the second-most frequently used site, with 22 percent of the public regularly getting news there. Only 13 percent of adults say they regularly get news on Twitter, despite the platform’s widespread use among journalists.
