BUSINESS SERVICES

Polaris Direct, a nationally acclaimed direct marketing services and printing company based in Hooksett, has promoted John Strand from general manager of personalization services to director of operations. In his new role, Strand will oversee data processing, mailing and client services.


HEALTHCARE

HCA Healthcare’s Portsmouth Regional Hospital and Parkland Medical Center has earned eight Healthgrades Awards for exemplary care in multiple categories. Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance at nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide to analyze the risk of mortality and complications experienced during a hospital stay.

Dr. Elisabeth B. Wilson has been named to succeed Cathleen Morrow as chair of the Department of Community and Family Medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health and Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine. Wilson is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is active in the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine and the North American Primary Care Research Group.



Dartmouth-Hitchcock has added podiatrist Dr. Jonathan Lee and Dr. Samuel Kunkel, an orthopedist, to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Manchester’s staff.

The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives has announced that North Country Healthcare, Berlin, has earned a 2021 CHIME Digital Health Most Wired recognition as a certified level 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. Participating organizations received a customized benchmarking report, an overall score and scores for individual levels in eight segments: infrastructure; security; business/disaster recovery; administrative/supply chain; analytics/data management; interoperability/population health; patient engagement; and clinical quality/safety.


EDUCATION

The University of New Hampshire has achieved a renewed platinum rating — the highest possible under the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education’s rating system — in recognition of its ongoing and increasing sustainability achievements. UNH is one of only nine higher education institutions in the nation to earn the platinum rating from STARS, the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System. Among the STARS platinum schools in the U.S., UNH has the fifthhighest score.


CONSTRUCTION




North Branch Construction, Concord, has announced the addition of Bronson Raspuzzi and Jessica Raymond to the company’s staff, as well as the promotion of Thomas Hannan. Raspuzzi joins the firm as a project manager, and Raymond is a project coordinator. Hannan was promoted from project coordinator II to project manager. A recent ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the official completion of $17.8 million in improvements at the Cooperative Middle School in Stratham. The project, completed a month ahead of schedule, was handled by Harvey Construction of Bedford, with architecture and engineering services provided by Mainebased Harriman.


ENERGY

With Bart Fromuth’s promotion to CEO of Freedom Energy Logistics, Auburn, Kurt Chapman has been named to succeed Fromuth as chief operating officer. Chapman joined Freedom in 2012 and most recently served as chief revenue officer.


FOOD AND AGRICULTURE

Limoncello producer Fabrizia Spirits, Salem, has introduced a new Crema di Pistachio liqueur. It is sold in 750 mL bottles and is initially available in New Jersey, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Fabrizia Spirits’ full product line includes its signature Fabrizia Limoncello, Fabrizia Blood Orange Liqueur and a Limoncello crème liqueur called Crema di Limoncello.


HOSPITALITY

The 68-room Quality Inn Merrimack has been sold to Nai Allied LLC, Wason Associates Hospitality Real Estate Brokerage Group of Portsmouth has announced. The hotel, which is located on 2.6 acres, has seen “steady improvement” in room revenues over the years, according to Earle Wason, who brokered the sale.


ENGINEERING

Nathan Cote has joined TFMoran Inc. as a civil project engineer in the Bedford office. He has over 14 years of experience, including project management and engineering for electrical and natural gas systems, stormwater management and geotechnical projects.


GOVERNMENT

The New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration has promoted Lisa Crowley to director of the Taxpayer Services Division, the agency’s largest division. Crowley joined NHDRA in 2002 as a tax auditor in its Document Processing Division, eventually becoming supervisor. She succeeds Debra Bourbeau, who is retiring after spending the last 36 years as a state employee.


LAW

Attorney Derek J. Kaufman has joined the law firm of McLane Middleton in Manchester as an associate in the corporate department, advising clients on many issues, including entity formation and governance, due diligence, and mergers and acquisitions.


MANUFACTURING

Bedford-based contract manufacturer LSNE says it has doubled the sterile drug product lyophilization capacity at its Madison, Wis., manufacturing facility.

Laconia-based Orion Entrance Control Inc., a provider of building access technology solutions, has partnered with precision mechanical engineering firm Tansa Global to bring to market full-height turnstiles using Infinity software that the firm says provides real-time occupant counting data at entryways, perimeters, lobbies and elsewhere. Tansa Global’s full-height turnstiles secure many of the most famous venues in the world, including the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the host stadiums of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and the 2016 FIFA World Cup in Japan.


NONPROFITS

The New Hampshire Women’s Foundation has named Devan Quinn as its director of policy, overseeing research, policy and advocacy programs. Quinn began her career working on campaigns for Annie Kuster, Joanne Dowdell and Maggie Hassan before joining then-Gov. Hassan’s office. She has worked as a domestic violence crisis center advocate and as a policy analyst for a children’s advocacy nonprofit. Most recently, she managed grants for children’s mental health programs for the UNH Institute for Health Policy and Practice.

Betsy Paine, senior staff attorney for the Court Appointed Special Advocate Program of New Hampshire, has been appointed chair of the Endowment for Health board of directors, replacing Mike Ostrowski, whose term concluded. Paine previously worked for 21 years at The New Hampshire Circuit Court as a domestic violence specialist and grant coordinator. In addition, Mike Devlin, most recently director of grants and initiatives at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation, has joined the Endowment for Health board.

The Concord-based Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire and the Penacook Community Center are exploring a merger, enabling the combined organization to offer comprehensive care and services for children from infancy to age 18, the two organizations said. Under a merged entity, both organizations would continue to operate under their existing names. BGCCNH operates six early childhood centers and 19 before- and after-school programs across the Lakes Region and Central New Hampshire.

Penacook Community Center operates one child care center for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, and also manages before- and after-school programs in the Boscawen and Penacook Elementary Schools.

AARP has launched the Veterans and Military Families Health Benefits Navigator, a new tool aimed at providing information and resources to help veterans, military families and their caregivers navigate their healthcare options. It provides veterans with information about what is required to qualify for healthcare benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or Department of Defense. Catholic Charities NH has promoted Danielle Capelle to director of mental health services. Since 2016, Capelle worked as a licensed clinical mental health counselor out of the nonprofit’s Manchester and Concord offices, where she co-developed the “Families Coping with the Opioid Crisis” and “Talking to Teens About Suicide” community outreach programs.


TECHNOLOGY

Laborie Medical Technologies Corp., a Portsmouth-based medical technology company, has acquired Pelvalon Inc., a privately held medical device company located in Redwood City, Calif. Pelvalon is the developor of the Eclipse System, a non-surgical, patientcontrolled device for women suffering from fecal incontinence, or FI, a pelvic floor disorder that affects one in 10 women. The system has been cleared by the Food and Drug Administration.

Tech repair provider uBreakiFix has opened its newest location in Salem at 12 South Village Dr. The store offers repair services for smartphones, tablets, computers, game consoles, smart speakers and drones, among other devices. uBreakiFix was founded in 2009 in Orlando, Fla., and now has more than 700 locations across the U.S. and Canada.


FINANCIAL SERVICES

Mascoma Bank’s Community Development Lending Group has provided federal Historic Tax Credit bridge and construction funding for the rehabilitation of the historic Monadnock Mills building in downtown Claremont. Also working with Claremont Savings Bank, Chinburg Properties is developing the nearly 54,000-square-foot project, which will bring in more than 80 residential units and continue efforts to revitalize the city’s downtown mill area.



Randy Woods has joined Bank of New Hampshire’s Laconia branch as vice president and information technology manager in the bank’s IT department, bringing over 20 years of experience with customer analysis, risk assessment and performance measurements. Bank of New Hampshire, Bedford, also welcomed Kevin Colburn as a mortgage loan officer, working with the bank’s retail lending team, serving the southern region of the state.

Amy Lehr has been promoted to senior vice president of commercial credit and administration at Savings Bank of Walpole, Keene. Lehr joined the bank in 2002 as a vice president and commercial loan officer. In her new role, Lehr will focus on commercial credit analysis and loan administration.

The American Bankruptcy Institute has honored Robert J. Keach with its 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest recognition given by the ABI that recognizes a recipient’s deep commitment to the leadership and governance of the organization. Keach is co-chair of Bernstein Shur’s Business Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group, and served as president of the ABI, co-chairing the ABI’s Commission to Study the Reform of Chapter 11.

Bob Sharpe, of Windham, has been promoted to assistant vice president and commercial loan portfolio manager at Merrimack County Savings Bank, where he’ll manage commercial credit risk from the Bank’s Nashua office. Prior to joining the Merrimack in 2020, he worked as a risk management consultant with Darling Consulting Group and as a bank examiner with the Massachusetts Division of Banks.

Doug Petersen, CEO of Workers Credit Union in Massachusetts, has been named 2021 CEO of the Year by the Cooperative Credit Union Association. The annual award honors the people who make a difference by their personal embrace of the credit union system and its values and principles, according to CCUA. The organization represents more than 200 credit unions in four states.

Brenda Lane of Swanzey has joined Optisure Risk, Manchester, as a commercial lines account manager. With over 38 years in the insurance industry, her experience includes commercial lines underwriting for a major insurance carrier, specializing in all lines of coverage for contractors, retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers.


REAL ESTATE

The sale of three buildings and three vacant lots at 30 Ohio Ave., Manchester, has been sold by JAB Ohio Ave Inc., to DA Boisvert Electric. Tom Dickson of Stebbins Commercial Properties represented JAB and assisted the buyer in the transaction. According to the Hillsborough County Registry of Deeds, sale price was $350,000.
