A Burlington, Vt., software developer has developed an app that could help New Hampshire restaurants desperate to find help amid the state’s ongoing workforce shortage.
Earlier this summer, Fliptable officially launched in Burlington, signing up more than 80 participating restaurants from throughout the country in less than two months.
“Business owners are facing an extreme hiring challenge due to low unemployment and unreliable online recruitment tools,” said Kassandra Pike, CEO and founder of Fliptable. “After speaking to restaurant owners throughout New Hampshire, it’s clear the need for staff is critical. We know that Fliptable can play an important role in meeting these hiring needs and are looking forward to expanding our app capabilities and building a community within the beautiful Granite State.”
The app is available to both iPhone and Android users. Additionally, participating restaurants get access to both a physical and digital custom Fliptable QR code that directs job seekers to open positions after scanning, giving businesses the opportunity to further support contactless hiring.
To kick off the New Hampshire launch, Fliptable said it will give 25 job seekers who apply via the app and get hired by a participating restaurant a $250 bonus after 15 days of employment. Additionally, anyone who downloads the app and completes a restaurant or job-seeker profile will have a chance to win $1,000 until the drawing closes on August 31.
So far, a range of New Hampshire restaurants have signed on, including Beefside Restaurant, Concord; Flying Goose Brew Pub, New London; Forest Street Pub, Woodsville; Galley Hatch Restaurant, Hampton; Hanover Street Chophouse, Manchester; Manchester Country Club, Bedford; New England Tap House Grille, Hooksett; Pine Restaurant, Hanover; Sky Meadow Country Club, Nashua; and Crown Tavern, Manchester. — JEFF FEINGOLD
