
1. Last month, Citizens donated a brand-new delivery truck for the New Hampshire Food Bank — its second donated truck in six years. The new truck will be critical to New Hampshire Food Bank’s mission to deliver food to more than 400 agencies across the state.
2. Bank of New Hampshire has donated $5,000 to support Families in Transition-New Horizons’ food programs. FIT-NH was recently able to expand their food pantry to provide groceries for an average of 325 Manchester residents experiencing food insecurity each month. 4. June 27 was proclaimed by Gov. Sununu as Friends of Aine Gathering in Remembrance Day. The organization held a free community event for anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one on Sunday, June 27, at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester. 7. For more than three decades, Meredith Village Savings Bank has been working with local volunteers to provide the Save for America School Savings program to students at several school districts in the Lakes Region, providing a no-barrier option for establishing and maintaining a child’s first savings account without needing to make a special trip to the bank. Ashland Elementary School and its volunteers have so far conducted 24 school banking days in the 2020/21 school year, and students have deposited over $2,373 in savings. 8. The Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon cutting to welcome a new member, the Dover Mental Health Alliance, which began in 2019 after a summit of stakeholders discussed the need to bring mental health awareness, education and suicide prevention to a deeper level of understanding within the community.
