1. Gov. Chris Sununu command central on the weekend of March 6 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway where mass vaccination took place. The governor reported it was “an all handson-deck effort,” vaccinating approximately 7,800 Granite Staters.

2. The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department’s Conservation K-9 Team has welcomed a new K-9, Winni, a 7-month-old female chocolate Labrador retriever donated by Wes and Belinda Reed of Rise and Shine Retrievers in Barnstead. This is the fourth donation made by the Reeds to the department through the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of New Hampshire. Winni is now partnered with Conservation Officer Kenneth St. Pierre. The team will be assigned to the Lakes Region and will be available for call-outs and emergency services across the state.

3. Thanks to a box donation by UHAUL, Manchester girls at Girls Inc. of New Hampshire took a deep dive into making their cars for their afternoon, drive-in movie.

4. First Baptist Church of Lower Gilmanton is hoping to reach a goal of $100,000 in donations by the end of March as part of a capital campaign to restore the church. The church only needs $3,000 more to reach its goal, thanks to a Gilmanton donor who has offered to match dollar for dollar any donation that comes in from now to the end of March up to $3,000.

5. Officer Ryan Clark and Chief Richard Krauss of the Milton Police Department jumped into the Milton Three Ponds as part of the 2021 NH Special Olympics Dip to support 3,024 athletes.

6. Throughout the month of February, NH Roller Derby and Head Official Melissa Griffin organized a series of clinics directed presented live online for anyone interested in learning how to be a non-skating official, any current NSOs wanting a refresher, or any skaters that want to learn how it all works behind the scenes. The clinics were attended by individuals and roller derby officials from around the world. The clinics were free but donations were being accepted with part of the donations, $200, delivered to the Manchester NAACP in honor of Black History Month.

7. Boston Billiard Club & Casino in Nashua presented 35% of gaming proceeds to the Nashua Adult Learning Center for the week of February 8-14, 2021, presenting a check in the amount of $70,514 to Carol Baldwin, executive director of Nashua Adult Learning Center.

Baldwin was joined by Joe Rozmus, food & beverage director at BBC&C, and Giovanna Bonilla, director of events & partnerships at BBC&C. Each week, BBCC works with a registered 501(c)(3).

8. Meredith Village Savings Bank recently purchased $25,000 in tax credits through the NH Community Development Financing Authority in support of developing both land and water components into the Mill City Park, a whitewater park along the Winnipesaukee River adjacent to downtown Franklin.
