FOLLOWING a three-day Citizens Assembly of 50 NH residents organized by the nonpartisan New Hampshire Together, Granite Staters feel NH needs to do more to strengthen citizen deliberation and collective action on political issues. Four key points for the state are to institute an independent redistricting commission (with 89% supporting), improve voter education (87% support), create a “single ballot primary” (85% support), and re-focus on civics for grade school students (83% support).

IN a June survey, ResumeTemplates.com asked 1,666 U.S. employees who spend most or all of their workdays on computers about AI, finding that a third of employees use ChatGPT weekly, with 1 in 5 claiming to save over 10 hours per week using the language-learning model. Also, two-thirds of workers said they aren’t worried ChatGPT will take their jobs.

ACCORDING to a survey from Intelligent.com, a third of companies have removed bachelor’s degree requirements this year so far through June. Among those that have eliminated requirements, 59% did so for entry-level positions and 54% for mid-level roles. Nearly four-fifths (77%) cited prioritizing work experience over formal education, theorizing this could create a more diverse workforce and increase job applicant numbers.

OUT of 1,250 U.S. employees surveyed by ResumeBuilder.com, almost four-fifths of American workers would work weekends to avoid layoffs, while 58% would accept less desirable work and 48% would pass up time off. Chief reasons for avoiding layoffs include the ability to pay rent or mortgage, being able to afford groceries, losing employment benefits and finding new work.

LAW firm Schmidt & Clark recently examined resignation rates across career sectors in the U.S., finding that leisure and hospitality jobs currently have the highest employee exit rates in the nation, with over 2.9 million people leaving their roles between January and April alone. That’s an average of 742,250 employees per month.
