DOVER: Wentworth-Douglass Hospital recently announced the addition of a courtesy shuttle, which is available to transport patients and visitors to/from the parking garage, the main entrance, and the Mass General Cancer Center on its Dover campus. The courtesy shuttle is available to patients and visitors aged seven and up, and can comfortably accommodate five passengers and walking aids such as a cane or walker. The shuttle was made possible through community donations to the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Charitable Foundation in partnership with Cochecho Country Club and Five Star Golf Carts.

MANCHESTER: McLane Middleton received a Band 1 ranking in Chambers High Net Worth Guide – Private Wealth Law section. In addition, attorneys Steven M. Burke, George L. Cushing, Christopher R. Paul, Ryan J. Swartz, Robert A. Wells, and William V.A. PLYMOUTH: NH Broadband, a wholly owned subsidiary of the NH Electric Cooperative, announced that by the end of summer it will provide high-speed, dependable internet service to the Lakes Region through advanced fiber optic technology. By Labor Day, some Meredith residents will be able to begin experiencing increased speeds to meet the needs of modern households. NH Broadband has delivered high-speed internet to previously unserved and under-served areas with more than $65 million in grants, and will continue connecting the Lakes Region throughout the remainder of the year.

DOVER: The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire in Dover was chosen to be a recipient of The Brook’s charitable gaming proceeds for a 10-day period in June 2024, receiving $154,935 in combined donations. The funds will be used to expand the museum’s second floor with new exhibits: “Little Farmers,” an exhibit on farms and farming for children ages 0-5; and “The Play Loft,” a creative open space dedicated that inspires movement and gross motor development. The expansion plans were developed by ARQ Architects, and construction is contracted through DeStefano & Associates, Inc. The museum will remain open during the majority of the construction into 2025.

PORTSMOUTH: Great Bay Community College (GBCC) is now offering a new, eight-week phlebotomy technician certificate program created in response to workforce needs in the Seacoast area. Upon completion, students will be well prepared to sit for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician certification exam through the National Healthcareer Association. The course will be taught by Dr. Tarry Attallah, who began teaching the Medical Assistant program at GBCC in 2023 and spearheaded the development of the new program.
