On April 22, members of NASA, Lockheed Martin Corp. and Boeing paid a visit to Salem-based Standex International’s Spincraft in North Billerica, Mass., to present footage from the Artemis I mission and a certificate commemorating Standex’s efforts in the program. Spincraft — part of the Standex Engineering Technologies Group — contributed critical metal-formed hardware for the program’s Space Launch System rocket and Orion spacecraft that will bring humans back to the moon. During the tour, a presentation was held to recognize Standex employees’ contributions to the Artemis program and also showed the team unseen footage from orbit and inside the spacecraft during the mission. Artemis I was launched on Nov. 16, 2022, ahead of the Orbit spacecraft that will house a four-person astronaut crew during Artemis II, scheduled for September 2025. See also
