THE NH Women’s Foundation released its 2023 Status of Women in New Hampshire report that found the gender pay gap for mothers in the state is 33 cents — meaning NH moms make 67 cents to the dollar that NH dads make.

NEW Hampshire has a 7 percent poverty rate, but women, particularly women of color, living in more rural counties, older women and mothers continue to face economic disparities compared to men. The rate of poverty has decreased since 2017, from 9 percent to 8 percent for women, and 6 percent to 5 percent for men, according to the NHWF report.

THE report also showed that New Hampshire ranks tenth in the nation for lowest rate of uninsured women, with only 5 percent of Granite State women not insured for healthcare. Additionally, the number of rural labor and delivery units dropped from 26 in 2000 to only 17 in 2018, due to facility closures. Because of that, the minutes it takes to drive to the closest labor and delivery facility increased to 39 minutes in 2018 from 18 minutes in 2000.

ANALYSISTS at ResumeBuilder.com found that 36 percent of hiring managers say they lie to candidates about the role or the company during the hiring process.

Of this group, 75 percent lie in the interview, 52 percent lie in the job description, and 24 percent lie in the offer letter — 92 percent say they’ve had candidates accept a job offer after being lied to in some instance. Most commonly, lies surround the role’s responsibilities, growth and career development opportunities.

A new study by Ondeck analyzed LinkedIn data of companies from more than 100 industries to find the most popular sector in every state. Results showed, aside from healthcare, the leading industry in New Hampshire is manufacturing, with 4.9 percent of the Granite State’s companies in that sector.
