For the eighth year, the NH Tech Alliance TechWomen|TechGirls initiative is honoring three women for their contributions toward expanding STEM education or professional STEM advancements for women throughout New Hampshire.

The Tech Educator of the Year award was presented to Jennifer Cava, director of Academy for Science and Design, a STEM-focused charter school in New Hampshire that offers free public education.

The Tech Student of the Year is Kennedy Amorim, a student at the Derryfield School, who recently completed the ARMI BioTrek program, which involves presenting her work to a group of scientists at ARMI. She also works as a research assistance and facilitates research on protein signaling and interactions.

The Tech Professional of the Year is Flo Nicolas, co-founder of DEI Directive, a DEI-focused technology firm that provides a comprehensive DEI Intelligence Platform where HR and DEI professionals can have real-time access to DEI data. She also produces the “Get Tech Smart” show, highlighting tech companies from around the state.

Shannon Herrmann, chair of the TechWomen|TechGirls initiative at the NH Tech Alliance and senior recruiter at Alexander Technology Group, said, “The TechWomen Awards is always an incredible reminder of the work that is happening right here in New Hampshire, with inspiring business leaders, engaged educators and students who are making a technology impact before even earning a degree.”

The awards will be given out at a networking event on June 22 at the Fidelity Office in Merrimack. Find tickets at nhtechalliance.org/techwomen-awards.
