NONPROFITS

Catholic Charities NH has hired Karen Schoch as its new chief human resources officer. Schoch has more than 20 years of human resources, organizational and workforce development expertise, most recently as director of organizational development for Catholic Medical Center

The Friends Program has received a grant from the Dobles Foundation to pilot a new group mentoring program to complement its youth mentoring program that helps middle school-aged children develop self-esteem and engage in healthy online habits. The nonprofit is also actively seeking volunteers who would like to help make a difference in the life of a child through this program.

Easterseals NH has announced that Michele Talwani has joined the agency as senior vice president of community relations, a newly created role. Talwani has 27 years of nonprofit communications and development experience. She previously, she served as director of community relations for the NH Community Loan Fund in Concord.

Jennifer Crane has joined the Mayhew Program as development director, bringing more than a decade of fundraising experience to the organization.

Newburyport Bank recently donated $1,000 as a sponsor of Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire’s Annual Stiletto Sprint, taking place on September 23. Proceeds from this event will support the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships community youths.

Monadnock Food Co-op recently promoted Megan Lafaso Hercher as the store’s new marketing manager. She was previously the events and education coordinator at the co-op.

The Northern Forest Center is offering grants of up to $2,500 to volunteer-led organizations that help increase local participation in outdoor recreation in northern communities. Proposals are due March 31, and preference will be given to those projects that demonstrate community support, quantifiable outcomes of receiving funding, an implementation plan, and committed matching funds. NH Audubon’s Board of Trustees is welcoming nominations for their Tudor Richards and Goodhue-Elkins awards from now until April 15. The Tudor Richards recipient will be a person who best exemplifies Tudor’s appreciation of the outdoors and who has worked on behalf of conservation in New Hampshire. Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity has welcomed Joyce Holland, vice president and associate director of credit administration at Cambridge Trust, and Mallory Frizzell-Masse, a human resources specialist and real estate agent, to its board of directors.

The Mary Gale Foundation and Granite United Way have signed on to a three-year partnership to expand their services for the elderly female population across the city of Manchester.

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust employees donated more than $21,000 to seven nonprofit organizations via their charitable giving program Casual for a Cause. Recipients were: Brandon Area Rescue Squad (Vermont); David’s House (New Hampshire); Habitat for Humanity/7Rivers Maine (Maine); Island Nursing Home (Maine); Midcoast Habitat for Humanity (Maine); Mount Desert Nursing Association (Maine); and Pittsford First Response Squad (Vermont).

Fellowship Housing Opportunities, Inc. — which provides behavioral services and affordable housing for those recovering from or experiencing mental illness — has named Chelsea Paradore Locke its first development director to enhance the organization’s fundraising and grant work.


HEALTHCARE

After 10 years at their first location in Stratham, Oceanside Physical Therapy is expanding to a second location in Dover.

The new location also includes The Tide Strength Studio, a private gym with personal trainers who work closely with the physical therapists to develop ongoing strength training.

Catholic Medical Center has completed its new accreditation process from DNV, an Integrated Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations program, meaning the hospital has demonstrated it meets or exceeds patient safety standards set forth by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The hospital now has three years to achieve compliance with ISO 9001 to be fully accredited.

Granite VNA has promoted Kris Green to chief hospice officer, previously vice president of hospice. Before joining the agency, she spent 31 years with Concord Hospital as director of surgical services then later administrator of cardiovascular services. Newsweek has named Wentworth-Douglass Hospital the 189th best hospital (out of 414) in the U.S. for the third straight year in their 2023 “World’s Best Hospitals” rankings. Additionally, the publication also noted that the hospital performed “above average” in its infection prevention measures.

EPTAM Precision, a high-precision manufacturer of complex parts, retained wedü in 2022 to manage EPTAM’s marketing across digital, live and traditional channels, including a website redesign and marketing services such as creative campaign development, strategic planning and video and macro photography.

The Franklin Pierce University Board of Trustees has appointed new members Dominick Miciotta, CEO of Common Core Management and chief marketing officer for Smith Legacy Law, and Rollin Schuster, managing director of NFP/The Schuster Group and treasurer of CW Resources in Connecticut.

Wine educator Anne Richter Arnold has been retained to teach an eight-week Wine and Spirit Trust certification course for the first time at Tuscan Market’s Cooking School, where beginners can learn more about various wines around the world.

Parker Mountain Comfort Wraps — an e-commerce company that sells reusable therapeutic wraps — has collaborated with U.S. astronaut Dr. Karen Nyberg with the launch of the Dr. Karen Nyberg Earth Views product line, featuring fabric inspired by photos taken from Dr. Nyberg of Earth as seen from the International Space Station.

The Four Paws Inn in Meredith has opened a second location in Albany, called Albany Four Paws Inn, thanks to financing from Meredith Village Savings Bank. The new location offers year-round doggie day care, including overnight boarding and grooming services.

StretchLab, an assisted stretching franchise owned by Lenore and Jason Vaillancourt, opened its first location in Bedford, available to people of all ages and fitness levels.


FINANCIAL SERVICES

Sheila Harris has been named assistant vice president of marketing at Service Credit Union, where she will oversee product and digital marketing, creative services, and external and internal communications.

Aimee Sundstrom, previously assistant vice president of marketing and communications, is taking on the newly created role of AVP of community development and research, and Sarah LeBlanc, previously senior marketing communications manager, was promoted to product marketing manager.

NHTrust has announced the promotion of Toni Ciampaglione to vice president, senior wealth advisor and team leader. She first joined the firm in 2021 after a long career with Park Place Investments in Brattleboro, Vt. In addition, Joshua Allen of Meredith has joined NHTrust’s Meredith office as a financial associate. EP Wealth Advisors, a registered investment advisory, has acquired Resolute Financial, a firm with two offices in Massachusetts and one in New Hampshire. It is the fourth East Coast partnership EP has entered since September 2022, bringing the firm’s presence in the region to seven offices.

Marcie B. Gowen-Nobley, of Bristol, is the new senior residential loan originator at Union Bank, working out of the Lincoln location. She has been recognized by New Hampshire Housing as a Top 5 Participating Loan Originator since 2018.

David McMahon has joined the Meredith Village Savings Bank as branch and business development manager at the bank’s Portsmouth location. He replaces Jim Carrigan, who was recently promoted to regional vice president.

Natalia Beaulieu has been promoted to senior vice president, compliance officer at Bank of New Hampshire. She first joined the bank in 2020 as vice president, compliance officer, and holds a Juris Doctorate from the Massachusetts School of Law, as well as an ABA certificate in lending compliance.

Ameriprise Financial Services’ Keene office recently welcomed Scott Trendell as a financial advisor in the Lamb, Petersen & Mann Advisory Group. His 16 years of experience includes seven with Ameriprise Financial.

St. Mary’s Bank has promoted Kevin Nihill to executive vice president, while also continuing to serve as chief financial officer and treasurer. Before joining the bank, he was the senior vice president and treasurer at Massachusetts-based Berkshire Bank.

Jeff Smith has been promoted to vice president corporate treasurer and investment officer at NH Mutual Bancorp. Additionally, Ben Pepper was also promoted to vice president, corporate reporting and systems at NHMB.

Northeast Credit Union has appointed Katherine Kennedy to the Supervisory Committee of its board of directors, where she will advise the board in its oversight of credit union operations and responsibilities. Kennedy works as a senior business analyst and lives in Yorke, Maine.

Bellwether Community Credit Union has promoted Kerri Sarette to the role of vice president of operations, and she will also serve as the credit union’s Bank Secrecy Act officer. She started at the credit union in 2014, holding various leadership roles over the years.

Michael Chadbourne has joined Bar Harbor Bank & Trust as vice president, residential lending operations manager, with more than 33 years of financial services experience under his belt.

For the last 10 years, he was the director of homeownership lending at NH Housing Finance Authority.


Museum of the White Mtns. welcomes Kala Brzezinski

Kala Brzezinski has joined the Museum of the White Mountains at Plymouth State University as the new assistant director.

She joins the museum after time spent as a gallery assistant and interpreter at the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University, as well as the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

Brzezinski earned a master of arts in museology and museum studies from Tufts University and a bachelor of arts in history from Auburn University.
