ARCHITECTURE

The H.L. Turner Group Inc., Concord, was a subconsultant on the Breakwater North Harbor project in Lynn, Mass., providing flood mitigation and flood-proofing recommendations, design details, and technical and product/material specs for the site and two buildings to meet FEMA and Mass Building Code flood requirements.


BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS

Matt Moynihan has joined the Business Transition Strategies team as an M&A advisor and sales associate. He comes to the new role with over 25 years of experience in various leadership roles including R&D, engineering, marketing, profit/loss general management, and mergers, acquisitions and integrations.

Five new members have been added to the board of directors of the Granite Outdoor Alliance: Scott Crowder, New Hampshire’s first director of Outdoor Recreation Industry Development and the founder of the Pond Hockey Classic; Samantha Rokos, public relations and marketing coordinator at NEMO Equipment, Dover; Chet Clem, president of Lyme Properties, West Lebanon; Ericka Canales, executive director of Coös Economic Development Corp., Lancaster; and Charyl Reardon, president of the White Mountains Attractions Association, Lincoln.

Nominations are being accepted for the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce’s Citizens of the Year honor. The winner will be celebrated at the chamber’s annual dinner, which will take place on April 11, 2023. Deadline for nominations is Monday, Dec. 19. GOVERNMENT

Arnett Development Group (ADG), in partnership with the NH Department of Business and Economic Affairs, is offering free technical assistance to municipalities and nonprofit organizations interested in applying for Northern Borders Regional Commission funding in the spring of 2023. The funding can be used for infrastructure, tourism and recreation, business and workforce development as well as energy and healthcare projects in Coos, Carroll, Grafton, Belknap, Sullivan and Cheshire counties. The technical assistance includes application preparation, budgeting and finances, market analysis and research, infrastructure development, visitor and tourism assessment, downtown strategies and community planning.

NHTrust President Paul Provost has been named to the board of trustees of the NH Retirement System. A certified financial planner who also serves on the boards of the NH Higher Education Loan Corp. and the Concord Hospital Trust, his term will run through October 2025.

Michael Scala of Rochester, director of economic development for the City of Rochester, has been appointed to the NH Housing Finance Authority board of directors by Gov. Chris Sununu. Before taking the job in Rochester, he served as executive director of the Coos Economic Development Corp.


CONSTRUCTION

Hooksett-based Procon took home the Chairman’s Award at the Associated Builders and Contractors New Hampshire/Vermont’s annual Excellence in Construction awards ceremony on Nov. 3. Procon was honored for its design and construction of the Joyce Cummings Center at Tufts University in Medford, Mass., a 150,000-square-foot, seven-story academic building that houses classrooms, seminar rooms, meeting space, research labs, offices and a 160-seat auditorium. Metro Walls, a Manchester-based wall and ceiling contractor, was recently recognized with two awards at Associated Builders and Contractors New Hampshire/Vermont Chapter’s recent Excellence in Construction Awards ceremony. with two Excellence Awards. The company received an Excellence Award in the Commercial $2-$5 Million category for its role in the completion of EMD Serono’s Horizon Building in Billerica, Mass. In that same category, Metro Walls also has announced the promotion of three employees to vice president.

Carl Schulz, who has over 20 years of industry experience, has been promoted to vice president of estimating and preconstruction. Don Lessard has been named vice president-Maine. Jay Rocha has been promoted to vice president-South Shore. Metro Walls was also awarded an Excellence Award for its work on the Lincoln Lofts project in Biddeford, Maine.


FINANCIAL SERVICES

Bank of New Hampshire has introduced Givio, a charitable banking platform that it says allows customers to donate to their favorite charities directly from their online banking account. Givio also enables customers to track all their donations in one place, the bank said. This year, on Giving Tuesday and throughout the rest of the year, Bank of New Hampshire said it will match all donations its customers make through Givio, up to $1,000 per customer and up to a combined total of $20,000. Amherst-based HPM Insurance and Insurance Solutions Corp., Plaistow, have announced their agreement to affiliate, a new relationship that the companies said will help improve workflows, procedures and technologies to better support employees, carrier relationships and clients.

Portsmouth-based Charter Oak Capital Management, a wealth management firm, has announced the addition of James Bossieux to its staff as a financial advisor. Bossieux, who lives in Andover, Mass., has more than a decade of experience at Vanguard.

Merrimack County Savings Bank supported the Currier Museum of Art with the purchase of $10,000 in tax credits towards the Chandler House Restoration Fund. The funds, facilitated by the Community Development Finance Authority, will be used to restore the Chandler House in Manchester into a gallery, ceramic studio, art classrooms and office spaces.

Northeast Credit Union promoted Traci Tenggren to senior vice president, chief human resources officer. With over 20 years in the finance industry, her new role will help expand the credit union’s talent and professional development strategies.

Federal benefits administrator FedPoint has been recognized with the HIRE Vets Medallion Award, the third year in a row, for its commitment to recruiting and employing veteran employees. Ten percent of the company’s 432 employees are veterans.


REAL ESTATE

Sean Carroll, a first responder in the Lakes Region and North Country for over 30 years, has joined the firm of Badger Peabody & Smith Realty as a sales associate based out of the Littleton office.

Kathy Davis of Alton Bay has joined Roche Realty Group’s Meredith office. Davis, who has nine years of real estate sales experience, also has 14 years of experience in the mortgage industry.


RETAIL

Timberland has announced the appointment of Ezra Martin to the newly created role of vice president, marketing-Americas. Martin joins Timberland from The Estee Lauder Companies, where he served as global vice president of marketing for the men’s skincare brand Lab Series. He also has held brand leadership roles at both Nike and Converse.


TRANSPORTATION

Mark Tulley, owner of Tulley Automotive Group, a BMW, Buick, GMC and Mazda dealership in Nashua, has been nominated for the 2023 Time Dealer of the Year. Tulley is one of a group of 48 dealer nominees from across the country who will be honored at the 106th annual National Automobile Dealers Association show in Dallas, Texas, in January. The Dealer of the Year award recognizes the nation’s most successful auto dealers who also demonstrate a longstanding commitment to community service.


EDUCATION

Great Bay Community College has introduced a new two-year associate of science degree in homeland security and emergency management. The program is geared toward individuals interested in responding to and preparing for disasters. Topics include homeland security, emergency management, terrorism, crisis planning and national incident management systems. The two-year degree is an outgrowth of the college’s homeland security certificate program.

White Mountains Community College has broken ground on the new Advanced Technology Building at its Littleton Academic Center. The 10,000-squarefoot building will be home to WMCC’s Diesel Heavy Equipment Technology program’s innovation lab, a welding lab and flexible learning spaces. In March, Milton CAT made a $200,000 donation to support the construction, equipment, infrastructure and program development, and Caterpillar donated $25,000 as well.


HEALTHCARE

Anne Tyrol, Cheshire Medical Center’s interim chief nursing officer, no longer has “interim” in her title, the Dartmouth Healthaffiliated hospital has announced. Tyrol, formerly associate chief nursing officer at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital in Lebanon — also affiliated with Dartmouth Health — has been acting chief nursing officer in Keene since mid-June and assumed the official position Oct. 30. She took over the job to replace Amy Matthews, whose license was temporarily suspended earlier this year by the state nursing board amid a federal investigation into gallons of fentanyl solution that was lost or unaccounted for at the hospital. Matthews was never accused of stealing the drugs, but was sanctioned due to her supervisory role.

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital has awarded a $25,000 grant to Waypoint to assist in the creation of a dropin center in Rochester to allow the nonprofit organization to reach more homeless youth in the Seacoast region. The Rochester center is designed to provide a safe, judgment-free place for youth to access basic needs while building trusting relationships with staff. At the center, they will have access to food, clothing, technology, educational resources and connections to multiple supportive services.

Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center has received an “A” Hospital Safety Grade for Fall 2022 from The Leapfrog Group, a distinction that recognizes DHMC’s achievements in protecting hospital patients from preventable harm and errors.

The Northeast Delta Dental Foundation recently awarded $10,000 to support dental services for low-income patients at Families First Health & Support Center in Portsmouth and Goodwin Community Health in Somersworth. Both dental centers provide preventive, restorative and emergency dental care to patients as well as medical and behavioral health care and family services.

Neurologist Rohit K. Reddy has joined Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics Manchester and Concord, where he’ll focus on assisting patients with headache, epilepsy and general neurology issues. Reddy earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, and completed his residency at Montefiore Medical Center, where he was chief resident, in the Bronx, New York, as well as an epilepsy fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center in 2022.

Harbour Women’s Health, a private women’s health care practice owned and operated by its female physician providers, has expanded into Rochester, where they’ll provide officebased and surgical care options to more women on the Seacoast of Maine and New Hampshire. The practice has been ranked Best of the Seacoast five years in a row and Best Maternity Hospital two years in a row.

Southern New Hampshire Health has announced the establishment of Legacy Trust, a charitable foundation to support programs, services and initiatives across its health system comprised of Southern New Hampshire Medical Center and Foundation Medical Partners, a multispecialty physician group.


HOSPITALITY

The Gale River Motel in Franconia, which offers eco-friendly lodging, has been sold by 21-year owner Kevin Johnson to New York-based Gale River Vacations LLC. According to Badger Peabody Smith Realty, the purchasers were looking for an investment as well as a place to stay while they’re in the area. Johnson was represented by Badger Peabody Smith’s Mary Doherty, and the buyers were assisted by Linda Matheson, also of Badger Peabody Smith.


NONPROFITS

Former New England Patriots vice president and chief marketing officer Lou Imbriano has donated his official Super Bowl XXXVIII championship ring to New Hampshire-based Swim With A Mission to help raise funds for veterans-related programs. SWAM is organizing a raffle with the goal of selling 1,000 tickets at $100 apiece in order to raise $100,000. The raffle, which began on Veterans Day, will end with a drawing in February. Information about the raffle can be found at the nonprofit’s website, swam.org.

Bank of New Hampshire has contributed $5,000 to the Friends of Forgotten Children, an organization that helps children, families and seniors by providing food assistance, self-help training opportunities, clothing and holiday gifts.

Friends of Tuckerman Ravine and White Mountain Avalanche Education Foundation, both longtime nonprofits of Mt. Washington Valley, have merged to form Mount Washington Avalanche Center Foundation. This merger will contribute financial support to avalanche forecasting and search-and-rescue programs, as well as offering outreach, events and educational opportunities to the greater backcountry community.

The 11th annual Salute Our Soldiers Gala, hosted by the Nashua Chapter of Easterseals NH Veterans Count in Nashua on November 12, raised more than $160,000 for direct assistance to veterans and military members statewide.
