CONCORD: State revenues, which continue to perform ahead of budget writers’ expectations, totaled $770.2 million for the first four months of the 2023 fiscal year — $132 million over estimates and $23.7 million more than a year ago. The Department of Revenue Administration reported that October state levies produced $165 million in revenues, with business taxes, the room and meals tax, and taxes on interest producing most of the $42.7 million in surplus for the month. October’s total is $17.5 million more than the state collected a year ago, when the year’s revenue surplus was over $400 million.

CONCORD: Adults insured by Medicaid will be having their dental care covered after the Executive Council approved a $33.5 million contract with Northeast Delta Dental to provide oral care and oral education and transportation to appointments when needed. The company now has until April to begin providing dental coverage to nearly 88,000 adults on Medicaid and expanded Medicaid under a 15-month contract. The state, which covers oral health care for children on Medicaid, was one of fewer than a dozen that did not also cover adults until legislation passed this year. Only emergency services were covered.

BOW: The massive warehouse in Bow that holds all the alcohol sold in the state’s 67 liquor stores is about to get even bigger. A groundbreaking ceremony was held Nov. 10 at the 244,000-square-foot DHL Distribution Center to construct a 27,000-square-foot addition, which NH Liquor Commission Chairman Joseph Mollica says is needed to accommodate the increasing sales and “allow us to continue providing the best selection and value to the Granite State.”

NASHUA: Boston Billiard Club & Casino has completed the installation of 50 historical horse racing gaming machines, the first of more than 300 planned for the charitable gaming casino. The activation of the 50 machines coincided with the official completion of Buffalo, N.Y.-based hospitality and entertainment giant Delaware North’s purchase of Boston Billiard Club from owners Kurt and Susan Mathias. Brian Hansberry, president of Delaware North’s gaming business, said the company is working to install additional machines in the 23,000-square-foot venue by December.

LEBANON: Mascoma Community Development has been awarded $55 million in New Markets Tax Credit authority by the U.S. Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institution Fund. The tax credit authority allows MCD to direct capital to under-served communities through financing projects nationwide, with a primary focus on New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, New York and Massachusetts. The latest New Markets Tax Credit award represents MCD’s fifth allocation.

CONCORD: New Hampshire will receive $129,429 as part of its share from two multistate settlements with Experian Information Solutions Inc. and T-Mobile USA Inc. as the result of a 2015 data breach, Attorney General John Formella said Monday. The companies have agreed to improve their data security practices and to pay 40 states more than $15 million combined, the AG said. The data breach compromised the personal information of more than 15 million people, including 21,058 New Hampshire residents, who submitted credit applications with T-Mobile.

LEBANON: Dartmouth Health has launched the Center for Advancing Rural Health Equity, an initiative that will focus on identifying and addressing persistent health disparities that affect residents of rural communities. The center is believed to be among the first centers of its kind in the nation. Dr. Joanne Conroy, D-H’s CEO, said rural health inequity “is one of the most significant, yet largely overlooked, challenges facing our healthcare system today.”

BEDFORD: REI Co-op is the first store to formally announce it will open as part of the newest phase of the Market and Main development in Bedford. The Union Leader reported that the specialty outdoor retailer expects to open in a 22,000-squarefoot store on South River Road. The store will feature a full-service bike shop staffed by certified mechanics and a ski and snowboard shop offering tuning, waxing and repairs.
