HYPERTHERM ADDS ‘ASSOCIATES’ TO NAME
Hanover-based Hypertherm is changing its corporate name to Hypertherm Associates, a name that it says represents the company’s evolution from a manufacturer of plasma cutting products to a multi-technology provider of industrial cutting solutions, with its people at the heart of everything it does to support and solve customer challenges.
Hypertherm will continue as the brand for plasma cutting solutions, while OMAX will remain the name for its waterjet cutting systems. Two newly defined groups, the Hypertherm Associates Software Group and Hypertherm Associates Aftermarket Group, will encompass product brands such as ProNest, Robotmaster, Centricut laser and AccuStream waterjet parts.
Along with the new name, Hypertherm Associates is introducing a new corporate logo and updated logos for its technology brands.
ALIGN CAPITAL ACQUIRES NEW HAMPSHIRE ELASTOMER DISTRIBUTOR
Align Capital Partners has acquired Ipotec LLC, a distributor and fabricator of elastomeric materials and components based in Exeter, NH.
Financial terms of the deal, which marks the third add-on company for Marco completed by Align, were not disclosed.
Align, which is based in Cleveland, Ohio, said Ipotec will be added to its Marco Rubber & Plastics portfolio company, a specialty distributor of elastomer components, including O-rings and gaskets, that is based in Seabrook.
Ipotec services more than 2,600 global customers in a variety of end markets, including industrial, semiconductor, automotive, aerospace and medical.
Align acquired Marco in February 2020.
NEW COMMON MAN ROADSIDE MARKET PLANNED IN PORTSMOUTH
The Common Man Family of Restaurants is planning to build another of its Common Man Roadside sandwich shop and gas stations, this one in Portsmouth, at the Lafayette Road site of a former Burger King.
The Portsmouth Herald reported that the city’s planning board voted unanimously to grant site plan approval for Granite State Convenience to redevelop the highly visible site, which is located on Route 1, almost directly across the street from the Water Country Amusement Park.
The 4,970-square-foot Common Man Roadside restaurant will include drivethrough service, five gasoline dispensing islands and 26 parking spaces.
Other Common Man Roadside market and delis have been opened in Hooksett, Manchester and Plymouth.
HAMMOND LUMBER ACQUIRES ROCHESTER BUILDING SUPPLY FIRM
Maine-based Hammond Lumber Co. has acquired Brock’s Building Materials, a third-generation, familyowned company in Rochester.
Hammond, based in Belgrade, Maine, is a fourthgeneration, family-owned building material retailer established in 1953. With the acquisition, Hammond now has nearly 900 employees and 22 locations across Maine and New Hampshire, the company said in a news release.
Brock, established in 1961 by Maurice and Anne Brock, has served the Seacoast and Lakes Region of New Hampshire for more than 60 years. Hammond offered employment to all of Brock’s employees.
