White Plains, N.Y.-based North American insurance giant Marsh McLennan has acquired Maine-based Clark Insurance, a regional insurance firm. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1931, Clark provides business insurance, employee health and benefits, and private client services to individuals and businesses. Headquartered in Portland, Maine, it has additional offices in Windham and Gorham, Maine, Manchester, NH, and Lowell, Mass.

Haberman Insurance, a Massachusettsbased agency acquired by Clark last year, is also part of the acquisition. All 135 Clark Insurance employees will join MMA.

Our colleagues will see new opportunities for growth and development, and our commitment to supporting local communities will remain a top priority.”

CENTER BARNSTEAD SYSTEMS INTEGRATOR ACQUIRED

Tyler Technologies Inc. of Plano, Texas, has acquired Quatred of Center Barnstead, NH, a systems integrator and solution provider that assists clients with implementing advanced touchless technologies, including barcoding.

Tyler said that the acquisition will allow it to integrate Quatred’s barcoding technology into a range of Tyler products while also strengthening its current enterprise resource planning and enterprise asset maintenance offerings.

Quatred’s QUICK foundation supports mobile inventory and mobile fixed asset management and allows clients to print bar-coded labels and accurately scan them, which the company says reduces errors and eliminates paperwork.

Quatred was founded in 2005 by Marc Doyon. Tyler said the company’s current employees will join Tyler as full-time employees.

PCI PHARMA INVESTS $100M IN BEDFORD FACILITY

PCI Pharma Services, a global pharmaceutical manufacturing company, has announced plans to invest $100 million in its Bedford manufacturing facility.

The company said it plans to expand capabilities and capacities at the Bedford plant, which it acquired last year when it purchased Lyophilization Services of New England in December 2021.

PCI said it will be updating and expanding the facility’s aseptic liquid fillfinish and sterile lyophilization technology.

The Union Leader reported that company officials said 150 jobs will be created as a result of the expansion.

According to a company press release, the expansion consists of a 50,000-square-foot facility that will contain an aseptic fill-finish line with a fully isolated containment system. It will also have twin lyophilizers with auto-loading and unloading systems that can complete 400 vials per minute on a sterile fill-finish line.

SHIELDS HEALTH CARE HIT BY CYBERATTACK

Massachusetts-based Shields Health Care Group, which has a location in Portsmouth, has been hit by a cyberattack that could have exposed sensitive information for up to 2 million people.

The company said there is no evidence of identity theft stemming from the breach, but there’s still a chance customer information could have been compromised.

Shields Health Care Group said an unknown actor gained access to its systems between March 7 and 20. The hack included sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, medical record information and insurance details. The company said it contacted the FBI as well as state and local authorities about the incident.
