The Friends of Big Nansen Ski Jump Committee successfully restored and reopened the historic Big Nansen Ski Jump in Milan. The jump was originally built in 1936-37 and was coined the largest steel tower jump in the U.S. It even hosted the very first U.S. Olympic tryouts in 1938.
Refusing to see the jump fade away, the Friends of Nansen Ski Jump joined forces with the State of New Hampshire to try and salvage it, with help from former World Champion ski jumper Sarah Hendrickson and a $250,000 grant award from the Northern Border Regional Commission. The jump is projected to be completed in 2023.
