Teams representing eight New Hampshire businesses and organizations took home the honors Nov. 4 at NH Businesses for Social Responsibility’s seventh annual Sustainability Slam.

“The entries demonstrated positive change in many areas, including workplace inclusivity, waste reduction, clean energy, advocacy, purpose-driven leadership and creativity,” said Michelle Veasey, executive director of the NHBSR.

Winners were selected by audience members attending the virtual event, who voted for what they deemed the most inspiring and impactful stories in each presenting category. Slam finalists had 90 seconds to tell their sustainability story in an engaging, creative way.

The winners were:

Community Category: Hanover Co-op Food Stores & Auto Service Center (large company) and MAYO Web Design & Marketing Services (small company)

• Environment Category: Monadnock Paper Mills (large company) and Scrapp (small company)

• Workplace Category: Kennebunk Savings (large company) and NEMO Equipment (small company)

• Nonprofit Category: Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of New Hampshire

Most Creative Story Presentation: Global Seafood Alliance Presenting sponsor of the Sustainability Slam was Velcro Companies, with additional support from Granite State College, NH Public Radio, NH Business Review, Pete and Gerry’s Organics, BerryDunn, Mascoma Bank, Timberland, W.S. Badger, 36creative, Full Spectrum Wellness, ChopShop Mediaworks, Sweaty Turtle Entertainment and Sunrise Labs.
