The YMCA of Greater Nashua has named Christopher Ellison director of operations for Westwood Park YMCA and Elizabeth Kaas as director of health and wellness and personal training. Ellison was formerly the director of sports and recreation at West Suburban YMCA in Newton, Mass., and Kaas was an indoor cycling instructor at the Y since 2019, with more than 15 years of project leadership experience.
Following the departure of its medical director, the New Hampshire Humane Society has engaged Meredith Place Veterinary Emergency to provide veterinary services to help ensure that the Humane Society can fully attend to the animals currently under its care. Under the formal partnership, Dr. Ashley Dunn will serve as interim staff veterinarian.
In the wake of the Executive Council’s recent decision in October to withhold funding for planning and sexual health care, the New Hampshire Women’s Foundation has awarded $7,500 emergency grants to the three defunded providers: the Joan G. Lovering Health Center, the Equality Health Center and Planned Parenthood of Northern New England. In a statement, the organization said it was “outraged” by the decision and “ashamed that the state of New Hampshire has turned its back on Granite State women and girls, in particular lowincome and minority women who stand to lose the most with the council’s defunding of these clinics.”
Catholic Charities NH has appointed Jeff McLean of Portsmouth to its board of trustees. McLean works with northeast business development at Insurcomm in Portsmouth, and has served on the Resource Development Committee at Catholic Charities NH for the past two years.
New Hampshire Jobs for America’s Graduates is expanding its programming and its physical space as well with a move from Manchester to Horseshoe Pond Lane in Concord. The move coincides with the launch of additional healthcare career training pathways, and a Concord training program will now be complemented by similar programs in Berlin, Keene and Laconia.

Author, writer and artist Wayne King, a former state senator and 1994 Democratic gubernatorial nominee, has released a book of New Hampshire images, “New Hampshire — A Love Story.”
Organized by season and punctuated by narrative, poetry and glimpses into his life, King reflects on the places that hold the most meaning to him personally but also celebrates the Granite State landscape. The book is available on Amazon.

FINANCIAL SERVICES
NBT Bank Senior Vice President Jason Hood has been promoted to regional commercial banking manager of New Hampshire. Hood joined NBT Bank in 2017 as senior commercial banking relationship manager and was promoted to senior vice president in 2020.
Bank of New Hampshire has welcomed Tricia Abood to the firm as vice president and Bedford banking office manager. Abood is a graduate of Leadership Greater Concord and brings 30 years of banking and financial services experience to the bank, with 17 years in various managerial roles.
Jennifer Paquin has joined Optisure Risk Partners’ Manchester office as a senior account manager, working with construction companies to evaluate and manage their risk protection strategies.
Mascoma Savings’ Mascoma Community Development arm has awarded $60 million in New Markets Tax Credits, which can be offered to investors in qualifying community development projects. The state’s congressional delegation announced the award, and U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen said the financial fallout caused by the pandemic exacerbated economic devastation facing underserved areas across New Hampshire and the nation. She said that’s why targeted funding to institutions like the bank is so critical to reverse these trends and lift local economies.
HEALTHCARE
The NH Healthcare Heroes initiative will once again be honoring the dedication, courage and commitment of those working in healthcare. Nominations are being accepted online at nhhealthcareheroes. org through Oct. 13. “Any New Hampshire resident who contributes to the healthcare workforce is eligible, including nurses, licensed nursing assistants, cooks, maintenance technicians and dentists. The initiative is sponsored in part by the New Hampshire Department of Business and Economic Affairs, New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, the New Hampshire Health Care Association, the New Hampshire Sector Partnership Initiative, North Country Healthcare, Northeast Delta Dental and Southern New Hampshire Area Health Education Center.

Kristyn O’Neil has joined Dartmouth-Hitchcock as director of radiology for D-H’s Community Group Practice, overseeing radiology operations for all imaging modalities in Concord, Manchester and Nashua. Previously, she worked for Brattleboro Memorial Hospital in Vermont, where she was director of orthopaedics and sports medicine.
Dartmouth-Hitchcock has opened Down Syndrome Dermatology Clinic at its Manchester clinic. Headed by dermatologist Dr. Jillian F. Rork, in partnership with nurse practitioner Caitlin M. Yazel, the clinic will address the unique skin conditions and needs of people with Down Syndrome.
BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS
Jennifer Landon, vice president of education and workforce development at the Associated Builders and Contractors of NH/VT, was recently sworn in as vice president of the Granite State Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction for the 2021-22 term. NAWIC works to strengthen and amplify the success of women in the construction industry.
The New Hampshire Public Health Association has added Suzanne Gaulocher, associate professor of public health and director of the Center for Healthy Communities at Plymouth State University, to its board of directors for a oneyear term.
The New Hampshire Tech Alliance has named Stephanie Baxter of Concord as director of programming and engagement.
Baxter, who has more than a decade of experience in special events and community relations, most recently worked as events and public relations manager for the NH Union Leader. She also founded NH Event Professionals, a networking group.
ENVIRONMENT
Eastern Analytical Inc., an environmental lab in Concord, has moved into a newly constructed laboratory at 51 Antrim Ave., Concord. EAI said the new laboratory offers the ability to bring new methodologies online and additional space for new drilling machinery.
GOVERNMENT
The Community Development Finance Authority reports it made 145 investments in community-based initiatives and organizations, infusing more than $20 million into community development, economic development and clean energy projects throughout the state in the 2021 fiscal year. The investments were made in 53 different communities. According to the CDFA, the awards rehabbed, preserved or created 152 housing units; created or retained 1,076 jobs; supported 440 micro businesses; and resulted in an estimated annual energy savings of 330,272 kilowatthours.
President Biden has appointed Michael Swack, a professor at the University of New Hampshire, as a member of the Community Development Advisory Board. At UNH, Swack has appointments at the Carsey School of Public Policy and at the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics. He also directs the Center for Impact Finance and the Master’s Program in Community Development, a program designed for adult practitioners. At Carsey, he is working on building scale in the community development finance sector, innovations in community development finance, microfinance and sustainable energy financing. He also directs the Financial Innovations Roundtable, a collaboration with the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve.
The New Hampshire Liquor Commission opened its newest NH Liquor & Wine Outlet on Sept. 9 in Claremont. The new store is approximately 10,300 square feet, nearly doubling the retail footprint of the original building.
ENGINEERING
Jonathan Devine has joined TFMoran’s Civil Engineering Department as a project engineer in the Bedford office. Since last March, Devine has worked for TFMoran as a survey field technician. He received his Engineer in Training certification from the state of New Hampshire in February. In addition, Philip Dahlberg has joined TFMoran as a survey field technician in the Bedford office. He previously worked as a survey technician for two local companies.

Position Imaging Inc., a Stratham-based company that specializes in omnichannel logistics fulfillment and asset tracking, has added three people to its leadership team. Dick Sillman has joined the firm as vice president of engineer ing. Prior to joining the company, he delivered products for Apple, Microsoft and Tile, among others. Matthew Knoff has joined the company as vice president of service and fulfillment. He was co-founder and chief operations officer for ButterflyMX. Matt Haynes has joined the firm as senior vice president of sales. Prior to joining Position Imaging, he served as vice president at Parcel Pending.
York IE, a vertically integrated strategic growth and investment firm in Manchester, has expanded its advisory services practice to help B2B companies more efficiently and predictably grow their businesses. The firm’s advisory services now cover financial operations, capital strategy, go-to-market and sales scaling. The firm also offers market, product, marketing and communications services.

Medical technology company Pneuma Systems Corp. of Portsmouth has entered into a product development collaboration with Takeda with the goal of improving the patient experience. Pneuma Systems has developed a series of technologies that are aimed at scientific and medical fluid flow, and Takeda is a developer of plasmaderived therapies, such as immunoglobulin.
REAL ESTATE
Concord Housing + Redevelopment Executive Director John Hoyt has announced his retirement after nearly two decades at the agency. “John has led Concord Housing + Redevelopment for the past 19 years,” said the board’s chair, Jackie Whatmough. She said he will retire at the board’s discretion, but no later than March 31, 2022.
Homeowners in Leisure Village, Raymond, recently purchased their 125-unit manufactured-home park, making it New Hampshire’s 138th residentowned community, or ROC. With support from the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund’s ROC-NH team, homeowners organized and formed Tranquility Estates Cooperative in April. The cooperative then negotiated with the park’s owners, 28cc LLC, ND, reaching a $4.58 million purchase price. The deal was finalized on Aug. 27 with mortgages from the Community Loan Fund and Franklin Savings Bank.
Janet Nickerson, who recently earned her associate broker license, has been named managing broker of Badger Realty’s Berlin office.
A 6,460-square-foot mixed-use building at 105-107 Market St. in downtown Portsmouth has been sold. David Choate and Andrew Ward of Colliers’ Portsmouth office represented the seller, 105-107 Market Street LLC, in the transaction. Tony Jalbert, of Tate & Foss Sotheby’s International, represented the buyer, 409 Franklin Pierce Highway LLC. According to the Rockingham County Registry of Deeds, the sale price was $2.5 million.
Another high-bay warehouse distribution building has been sold. Prolman Realty Inc. announced the sale of One Bon Terrain Drive, Nashua, to EIP Manager Corp. Mark Prolman represented the buyer and Rich Ruggiero of Newmark Knight represented the Seller, FW Webb Company. The 400,000-square-foot facility will be repositioned by EIP Manager Corp. to lease out to one or two tenants. According to the Hillsborough County Registry of Deeds, the selling price was $24 million.

Matt Miller has joined Bernstein Shur as an associate attorney in the firm’s Manchester office, working with the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. Prior to joining the firm, Miller worked as a law clerk to Magistrate Judge Andrea Johnstone at the U.S. District Court in Concord.
Sheehan Phinney welcomed Nicole Waldow Austin to the firm’s healthcare and Jennifer P. Lyon has joined Bernstein Shur’s litigation group. Austin and Lyon will work primarily out of the firm’s Manchester office.
The McLane Middleton law firm announced that attorney Joshua Silverstein has been admitted to the New Hampshire State Bar. He is an associate in McLane’s tax department, where he advises individuals and entities on various state and federal tax planning issues.
