TELECOMMUNICATIONS

UScellular has named Stacey York as its new brand strategy and planning manager, overseeing expansion of the firm’s national brand awareness. York, who has worked with UScellular for 25 years, started off as a call center associate in Bedford, and also has served as interim store manager for the UScellular stores in Concord and West Lebanon, before moving into the marketing department for the company. She was field marketing manager for the company’s New England market and most recently served as local marketing and brand activation manager.

Kodiak Building Partners of Victoria, Texas, has acquired Ricci Lumber of Portsmouth, NH, effective July 1. Ricci Lumber was founded in 1957 in Portsmouth, and serves the lumber and hardware needs of customers in New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts. Ed Hayes, president of Ricci Lumber, will retain his position at the company, which will become part of Kodiak’s Building Materials. Polaris Direct, Hooksett, has hired Devin L’Heureux as an account manager on its customer service team.

CGI Business Solutions and Lifetime Benefits Group, both of Manchester, have merged their operations under the CGI brand. Both of Lifetime Benefits Group’s founders, Jeff Dorow and Mike O’Malley, will remain with the organization, and Lifetime clients will become clients of CGI Benefits Solutions.

Steri Clean, a Londonderry-based commercial cleaning service, has launched an updated website that provides businesses and facilities with information on how to adhere to Covid-19 cleaning and sanitization protocols.

NONPROFITS

The New Hampshire Children’s Health Foundation has awarded six organizations a total of $210,000 in support. Recipients were:

Amoskeag Health, Manchester, $60,000; Granite United Way, $20,000; Organization for Refugee and Immigrant Success, Manchester and Nashua, $70,000; Southwest Regional Planning Commission, Keene, $20,000; UNH Foundation, $20,000; Willing Hands, Lebanon, Claremont and Cornish, $20,000.

The Concord Community Music School has selected Maryann LaCroix Lindberg to serve as interim executive director following the retirement of founding president Peggy Senter in mid-July. Lindberg is currently president of Philanthropy Resource Group LLC, a group she founded that helps nonprofits with capacity-building, community engagement, fundraising, strategic planning and leadership development.

Nathan Wechsler & Company CPA Cassidy Huckins has been elected assistant treasurer of the Red River Theatres board of trustees.

Jay Hayston has been named the new president and CEO of Cedarcrest Center for Children in Keene, succeeding Cathy Gray who will be retiring from her position after leading the organization for over 25 years.

Hayston, who will assume the job in September, is operating vice president of Seven Hills Rhode Island and Seven Hills ASPIRE! in Worcester, Mass., which serves adults with developmental differences and children with unique needs.

The New Hampshire Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities and several volunteer groups raised over $127,000 during NASCAR Weekend, July 17-18 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The chapter, the official charity of NHMS, hosted four events over the course of the week, including Charity and the Wicked Good Live Auction, Sign the Track Wall Banner and a 50/50 raffle.

Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity has appointed Jenn Madden to its board of directors. Madden is the owner of Madden Realtors in Rye, and the board said her experience as a Realtor and real estate investor is an asset for SENH Habitat for Humanity.

CASA of New Hampshire has appointed Mike Ambrogi, Karen Borgstrom, Paul Chant, Nancy Sampo and Tom Stevens to its board of directors. Ambrogi, of North Hampton, is senior technology fellow at Novocure Inc.; Borgstrom, of Lyme, is director of external affairs at Dartmouth-Hitchcock; Chant, of Chocorua, is a director of Cooper Cargill Chant; Sampo, of Bow, is president of Enviro-Tote Inc.; and Stevens, of Manchester, is former vice chair and chief administrative officer of KeyCorp.

The Moore Center will hold its annual Garden Party from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday Sept. 16, at the Brady Sullivan Tower, 1750 Elm St., Manchester. This year’s honoree is Daniel F. Cronin, founder and president of CGI Business Solutions.

Nashua PAL has been named a 2021 Champion in Action in the category of Social Equity & Inclusion by Citizens and the NH Union Leader. The honor includes $35,000 in unrestricted funding as well as promotional and volunteer support for the organization’s outstanding work.

Kahuna Laguna, the 40,000-square-foot indoor water park at the Red Jacket Mountain View Resort in North Conway, has been voted ninth on the list of the Top 10 Indoor Water Parks in the nation, selected by readers of USA Today in the newspaper’s Best Readers’ Choice travel awards.

REAL ESTATE

44 Chenell Drive, a 21,000-square-foot building on 2.4 acres in Concord, has been sold by Chenell Drive Trust to New Sunset Realty. Bob Rohrer and Dan Scanlon of Colliers’ Manchester office represented the seller and assisted the buyer in the transaction. According to the Merrimack County Registry of Deeds, the property sold for $1.9 million.

Carter Bascom of Four Seasons Sotheby International Realty, New London, has been named 2021 Realtor of the Year by the Sunapee Region Board of Realtors. The honor is awarded in recognition of Realtors who have served not only the real estate profession but also their communities. Bascom serves on both the New Hampshire Association of Realtors’ Public Policy Committee and is the co-chair of the Housing Opportunity Task Force, a partnership of the Sunapee Region and Upper Valley Board of Realtors.

Mike Reed, president of Stebbins Commercial Properties, has announced the sale of the 12,700-square-foot building at 6 Continental Blvd., Merrimack, by Corja Inc. of Merrimack to 6 Continental LLC of Hudson. Reed represented Corja and Mike Tamposi of CBRE represented the buyer. According to the Hillsborough County Registry of Deeds, sale price was $975,000.

Westborough, Mass.- based Racing Mart Fuels LLC has acquired Dinkbee’s Convenience Store in Keene, a sale that included a convenience store with gasoline and diesel fuel and the Keene Klean laundromat. C-Store Investments LLC, a Gilford-consulting firm that provides advisory services to the convenience store and retail petroleum industry, handled the sale process for Toby Tousley and his wife, who owned and operated Dinkbee’s and Keene Klean.

Bob Creighton of Arnett Development Group, Concord, and founder and CEO of University Innovations Global, has been appointed by Queen Elizabeth II as a member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. Creighton was honored for his work as president of the organization Scots in New England as well as former president of the New Hampshire Highland Games.

Brady Sullivan Properties has secured Alumni Ventures Group space at its office headquarters at 670 N. Commercial Street in Manchester. AVG executed a long-term lease for 27,351 square feet on the top floor of the historic Jefferson Mill, with plans to consolidate three New Hampshire offices into this one location. James Tobin, Brady Sullivan’s director of commercial leasing, facilitated the transaction on the landlord’s behalf. JLL’s Boston Team represented AVG, which plans to take occupancy in the fourth quarter.

Prolman Realty, Inc. has leased 25,360 square feet of space to Microwave Techniques at 104 Perimeter Rd., Nashua, according to Mark Prolman, who represented Rapid Real Estate LLC, the lessor. Microwave Techniques was represented by Jeffrey Tounge, Tounge Associates and Margie MacDonald RE/MAX Presidential. The property is located at the Nashua Airport and consists of 2,540 square feet of office space and 22,860 square feet of warehouse space.

Denver-based RE/MAX, LLC has completed its previously announced purchase of the North American regions of RE/MAX Integra. The RE/MAX Integra regions acquired by RE/MAX LLC include five Canadian provinces (New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Prince Edward Island) and nine U.S. states (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Indiana, Minnesota and Wisconsin). With the sale now closed, more than 19,000 agents and more than 1,100 independently owned and operated RE/MAX offices have joined RE/MAX, LLC Company-Owned Regions.

Lynnfield, Mass.-based Horvath & Tremblay has brokered the sale of Great Brook Village, a 55+ manufactured housing community in Belmont. The deal includes the land and roads within the community, as well as 65 manufactured home lots, all of which are occupied with permanent tenant-owned homes. Executive Vice Presidents John Pentore and Dennis Kelleher, together with senior associate William Peck, worked on behalf of the seller and procured the buyer.

Kathleen Ahlin has been named 2021 Realtor of the Year by the Seacoast Board of Realtors. Ahlin owns Exit Realty Great Beginnings in Concord and serves as a director of the Seacoast board.

TECHNOLOGY

York IE, a Manchesterbased strategic growth and investment firm, has launched the teams feature of its Fuel market and competitive intelligence platform. The new feature allows startup employees to work collaboratively in researching companies and markets and then share their findings with their colleagues, the company said. Because Fuel provides data and insights, the idea is that the teams feature will ensure all involved are working toward the same goal and staying up to date on the latest industry insights and information, it added.

Eagle Biosciences Inc., a Nashua-based distributor of assay kits and antibodies, has announced an agreement with Genetic Analysis AS, a Norwegian molecular diagnostics company, to distribute the patented GA-map Dysbiosis Test, which detects and characterizes imbalance in the gut microbiota in human fecal samples. Additionally, Genetic Analysis has developed a fecal Covid-19 test that is performed on the same GA-map platform and can be used in the analysis of an individual’s Covid-19 status.

Lee Lynd, the Queneau Distinguished Professor of Engineering at Dartmouth, will be the founding director of the new Advanced Second Generation (A2G) Biofuel Laboratory at the University of Campinas in Brazil. The lab’s mission is to develop and enable technology to sustainably produce bioethanol, an alternative to fossil fuel, from inedible agricultural products at a much lower cost than is currently possible. Lynd will continue to lead the Lynd Lab at Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth.

Roze Seale has joined Portsmouth-based Kemberton, a provider of technology-enabled revenue cycle management services for hospital claims, as regional vice president of sales. Seale has over 20 years of experience selling healthcare technology services and solutions directly to hospitals and health systems, large medical groups and academic medical centers.

ADVERTISING AND MARKETING

The New Hampshire Division of Travel and Tourism has selected Reach Global Marketing of Toronto as its agency of record in Canada. The agency will launch targeted public relations, travel trade initiatives and strategic partnerships in the Ontario and Quebec markets.

Acquire, a marketing and sales firm based in Raleigh, N.C., is opening an office in Portsmouth, the company’s first in New England. Acquire works with clients nationwide that have a presence in telecommunications and home entertainment. The firm plans to continue its expansion by opening two more new offices, including one in Boston.

FINANCIAL SERVICES




Ledyard National Bank has named Scott Laughinghouse senior vice president and market executive, based in the Concord region. He previously served as chief lending officer at two community banks operating in and around New York City and also held a variety of senior leadership positions with the former Lake Sunapee Bank and the Savings Bank of Walpole in Keene. In addition, Ledyard has named Meghan Wilkie a vice president in its commercial banking division. Prior to joining Ledyard, she spent six years at Bar Harbor Bank & Trust as vice president and commercial relationship manager in the Lake Sunapee and Upper Valley regions.

St. Mary’s Bank has named Jamie Towne a residential loan originator, responsible for developing mortgage loan business in New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts.

Steven Aiken has been promoted to vice president, financial advisors’ manager at NHTrust. Aiken is a registered representative for Infinex Financial Group, has nearly 30 years of financial management experience and has been with the organization as vice president of financial services since 2009.

David Hampton, president of the Schrager Hampson Aviation Insurance Group, Hampton, has been certified by the National Association of Corporate Directors, a designation that is designed to show boards, investors and other stakeholders that the holder has the highest commitment to continuing director education.


Bank of New Hampshire has announced the promotion of Robert Magan to senior vice president, senior wealth management and private banking investment officer. He joined the bank in January 2017 and has over 20 years of experience in money management. In addition, the bank has promoted Katie Reid to vice president, commercial banking officer.

She is the bank’s primary commercial banker for northern New Hampshire businesses. The bank also has promoted Bambi Lane to assistant vice president, commercial banking officer.

And Nicole Leroux has been promoted to deposit operations officer. She joined the bank in July 2005 and most recently was supervisor of the deposit operations department.

EDUCATION

Lakes Region Community College is launching a revamped and renamed Computer Information Systems degree with seven certifications and three stackable certificate options for students interested in the field of information technology. The three stackable certificate options include PC applications specialist, computer information systems technologist and programmer.

The New Hampshire Liquor Commission says it generated a record total gross sales of more than $801 million in the 2021 fiscal year, an increase of nearly 5%, or $35 million, over FY 2020. The NHLC also reported a record $176.6 million in total revenue, a nearly 14% increase over the previous year. The top 10 performing outlets were: Willow Spring Plaza, Nashua, $39.6 million; Portsmouth Traffic Circle, $34.6 million; Rockingham Mall, $32.7 million; Interstate 95 North, Hampton, $27.6 million; Coliseum Avenue, Nashua, $21.7 million; Interstate 95 South, $20.8 million; 9 Leavy Drive, Bedford, $20.1 million; Plainfield Road, West Lebanon, $19.3 million; Southgate Plaza, Seabrook, $18.3 million; and Elm Street, Manchester, $18 million.

Dr. Yan Li has joined the Rheumatology Department at Cheshire Medical Center, Keene. Prior to joining Cheshire, she finished her fellowship in rheumatology at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla. In addition, Cheshire has hired nurse practitioner Jennifer Patek, who will be working in the Family Medicine Department.

ACCOUNTING


Merrimack-based Melanson has promoted Christopher Hill to chief financial officer. He has been the firm’s controller since 2013. In addition, the firm has announced the naming of Duy Nguyen as a principal. He works in the commercial tax department and has been with the firm since 2014.

MANUFACTURING

Orion Entrance Control, Laconia, has unveiled Orion Constellation, an occupancy sensor to monitor private areas, such as conference rooms, bathrooms and sensitive intellectual property areas. The system uses radar that can detect micromovement, such as heart rate and breathing. Orion said Constellation provides data analytics in real time and historical statistics for companies to make data-driven decisions.

Spirit AeroSystems Holdings Inc. has entered into a collaboration agreement with Rochester-based Albany International Corp. to deliver technical and industrialized solutions to support hypersonic program developments. Spirit’s ultra-high temperature composites and structures capabilities along with Albany’s experience of producing high volumes of 3Dwoven, near-net shape will be helpful to design, develop and manufacture a wide range of scalable, highly adaptable thermal protection systems for hypersonic missions, the companies said.
