The New Hampshire Marine Trades Association has elected new leaders for the organization. Third-generation boat retailer Peter MacCallum, owner of MacCallum’s Boathouse Inc. in Epsom, was elected president, and John Whalley, a second-generation boat retailer and general manager of Silver Sands Marina in Gilford, will serve as the group’s vice president. The association promotes issues supporting the state’s marine industry, boating safety and maintaining the health of the waterways that support marine activities.
Mandy McDonald, family liaison for the Conway Elementary School and founder of the Conway chapter of End 68 Hours of Hunger, and Karen Dolan, director of snowsports at Cranmore Mountain Resort and Mountain Meister leader, have each been presented with White Mountains Treasure Award from the Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce. In addition, the Steve Eastman Community Service Award, named in memory of late Mountain Ear newspaper cofounder and publisher), has been awarded to Four Your Paws Only in North Conway.
FINANCIAL SERVICES
Dona Murray has
been promoted to senior vice president and investment officer at Bank
of New Hampshire. Prior to joining Bank of New Hampshire 10 years ago,
she spent over 15 years with Wellington Management Company in Boston. In
addition, Daniel Brown has been named executive vice president
and chief financial officer at the bank. He has 18 years of executive
management experience in streamlining operations and improving
workflows.
Richard Lipari has
been named vice president of operations at Northeast Credit Union,
Portsmouth. He previously worked at Nusenda Credit Union in New Mexico
as vice president of information systems.
Granite Financial Partners of
Milford, serves business owners, business associations and individuals
across northern New England, has completed its merger with Ten Broeck Insurance of Pepperell, Mass., and has hired three additional full-time employees. Jacob Stewart has joined the firm’s investment advisory team, Luciana Reis is an advisor, Kelsey Bailey also joined as the new client service administrator.
New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp has named six people as new corporators. They are: Jamie Burnett of Concord, a consultant and owner of Sight Line Public Affairs LLC; Kelli D’Amore of Deerfield, a principal at Nathan Wechsler & Company; Sarah Mattson Dustin of Contoocook, executive director of New Hampshire Legal Assistance; Dr. Yvonne Goldsberry of Walpole, president of the Endowment for Health; Jennie Meister of Walpole, controller of Bascom Maple Farms in Alstead; and Daniel Weeks of Nashua, a coowner and director at ReVision Energy.
HEALTHCARE
Zachary Conaway has
been promoted to director of environmental services at
Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Lebanon, succeeding Jay Welenc, who has led the
department since 2011.
Bridge Street Recovery LLC, a
national substance abuse treatment organization, has broken ground for a
new substance use disorder recovery facility in Bennington, NH. The
facility will include a 40-bed residential care unit and transitional
housing that will provide both ambulatory and long-term care to
individuals recovering from addiction.
Dr. Steven L. Bernstein has
been named the first chief research officer for Dartmouth-Hitchcock,
associate dean of clinical research at the Geisel School of Medicine at
Dartmouth and director of the C. Everett Koop Institute at Geisel. He
currently is professor and vice chair of research in the Department of
Emergency Medicine at the Yale School
of Medicine and Professor of Public Health in the Yale School of Public
Health. In his new post at D-H, Bernstein will oversee all aspects of
research and development in the organization.
Dartmouth-Hitchcock has
created an Office of Employee Well-Being, which will work to create and
sustain a culture that values and supports employee wellness,
efficiency of practice and personal/ professional fulfillment.
“Fulfillment in one’s work not only helps retain quality employees but
attract new ones,” said Heather Gunnell, director of the new office.
“The Office of Employee Well-Being is an invaluable resource in ensuring
we are supporting our employees, both to do their best work and to find

Memorial Hospital in
North Conway has received a three-year grant from Administration for
Community Living that will support Mt. Washington Valley agencies
assisting residents and their families living with dementia or
Alzheimer’s disease.
TECHNOLOGY
Information technology firm Red River has named Sera Gray as
the company’s new chief information officer. Gray has worked for 15
years at Red River, most recently as vice president of operations and
served as lead executive for the successful integrations of Red River’s
four recent acquisitions: Accunet Solutions, Natoma, Ambonare and CWPS.
Amy Skidmore has
joined Interware Development, Amherst, order management specialist. She
previously worked for over 10 years at the New Hampshire Department of
Motor Vehicles.
Exeter-based respiratory care technology firm Vapotherm Inc. has
received a $52 million growth capital financing package from
California-based CIBC Innovation Banking. The company said it will use
the funding to repay its existing revolving loan facility and term loan
facility. The agreement provides Vapotherm with a term loan of $40
million, which matures five years from closing, and a revolving line of
credit of up to $12 million.
IT company Red River, has
unveiled a fully managed softwaredefined wide area network (SD-WAN)
aimed at delivering advanced enterprise networking capabilities to the
public sector and enterprise markets. Managed SD-WAN gives organizations
greater flexibility, control and management over their network and is
“a core component in the future of networking,” said Kevin Steeprow, Red
River’s vice president of engineering.
ADVERTISING AND MARKETING
Tara Bishop of Manchester has joined Just Flow Events & Marketing as communications strategist.
Bishop
has more than two decades of experience in corporate and nonprofit
marketing communications in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
Saltwater Collective, a
full-service marketing agency in Portsmouth, has earned a spot on both
Inc. magazine and Adweek’s Fastest Growing lists for 2020. It was
Saltwater’s second year on Inc.’s annual list of the country’s 5,000
fastestgrowing companies, jumping to No. 1,192 from last year’s rank of
1,805. The agency also made Adweek’s Fastest Growing Agency list, noted
as one of the nation’s 10 fastestgrowing agencies with 10 to 15 years of
experience.
NONPROFITS
Prolman Realty Inc., Nashua,
has announced the sale of Units 1 and 2 at 381 Main St., Nashua, to FMP
Realty LLC. Seller of Unit 1 was RNC Realty LLC and the seller of Unit 2
was Accent on You Hair Salon Inc. Both were represented by Lisa Ferrari
in the transaction. According the Hillsborough County Registry of
Deeds, the selling price for Unit 1 was $187,500 and Unit 2 was
$405,000.
New Hampshire Children’s Trust has received a $37,000 grant award from the
Endowment for Health for the Family Resource Center Awareness project,
which promotes family strength and resilience through connection to
community-based resources.
AARP New Hampshire has presented Mary Roberge of
Manchester with the 2020 Andrus Award for Community Service. The award,
named after AARP’s founder, Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, recognizes
volunteers who are making a powerful difference in their communities in
ways that are consistent with AARP’s mission, vision and strategic
direction.
The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester recently announced the election of Deanna Rice, Catholic Medical Center, and William Stone, Primary Bank, to its board of directors. Board officers for the 2020-21 term are: Kevin Sheppard, chair; Tina Legere, vice chair; Brent Kiley, treasurer; and Liz MacDonald, secretary.
Christopher Norwood of Portsmouth, president of NAI Norwood Group, Bedford, and Anthony Poore, executive
director of New Hampshire Humanities, have been appointed to the New
Hampshire Housing Finance Authority’s board of directors by Gov. Chris
Sununu. Norwood’s, whose primary focus is commercial real estate sales,
is also on the board of the New Hampshire Association of Realtors.
Poore, who has previously worked in the economic development sector
addressing the needs of urban and rural communities, serves on the
boards of the New Hampshire Endowment for Health and Currier Museum of
Art. Donald Shumway of Hopkinton is the board’s chair and Kendall Buck
of Wilmot is vice chair.
The United Way of Greater Nashua has
received a $146,000 grant to support English language learner students
during the pandemic with remote learning. The grant, from federal CARES
Act funds, was approved by the state
Department of Education. The funding will support a number of
initiatives, including development of learning modules for key
technologies such as Zoom and Google Classroom in a variety of
languages, including Swahili, Spanish, Portuguese and Rohingya.
The Capital Region Food Program recently
distributed over 3.5 tons of nonperishable food items to 17 social
service agencies, food pantries and churches as part of its Year Round
Distribution Project. Receiving food as part of November’s distribution
were: Blueberry Express Day Care; Boscawen Congregational Church Food
Pantry; Center-Point Food Pantry; Christ the King Food Pantry; Community
Action Program Belknap-Merrimack Counties; Concord Human Services;
Epsom Food Pantry; Friends of Forgotten Children; Gospel Light Food
Pantry; Loudon Food Pantry; Merrimack Valley Day Care; Open Door
Community Kitchen; Pittsfield Food Pantry; Salvation Army; St. Paul’s
Church Food Pantry; Suncook/Allenstown Community Action Program; and
West Congregational Church Food Pantry.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS
Robert Cruickshank has
been hired to lead the New Hampshire Electric Cooperative’s efforts to
provide high-speed internet service in its service area. Cruickshank has
a range of broadband experience, including as vice president of
broadband internet access at CableLabs; vice president of engineering
and interim chief technology officer of Road Runner High Speed Online;
and as an
operations architect and senior vice president of customer data,
information and solutions at Cablevision Systems in Long Island, New
York.
TRANSPORTATION
Advantage Truck Group has
completed its acquisition of the Freightliner of New Hampshire
franchise and its full-service dealerships in Lebanon and Londonderry.
The Lebanon operation will continue in place on Heater Road, ATG said,
and the Londonderry operation has been moved to 222 Frontage Road,
Manchester. The acquisition allows ATG and its partner, McDevitt Trucks
Inc., to provide fully authorized service to Freightliner and Western
Star owners throughout New Hampshire from its four locations in
Manchester, Lancaster, Seabrook and Lebanon.
ARCHITECTURE
Market Square Architects, Portsmouth, has hired Michael Murphy as
a project manager. Murphy, who has 16 years of experience in
commercial, senior living, aviation, residential and hospitality
projects, previously worked for over 10 years with a large Northeast
designbuild firm.
BUSINESS SERVICES
Greg Mickelson of
Guilford, Conn., has joined Standish Executive Search as a principal of
the firm, which has offices in Manchester as well as Providence, R.I.,
and Worcester, Mass.
REAL ESTATE
Prolman Realty Inc. has
announced the sale of 53-59 Main St., Nashua, to Diastole Holdings LLC,
which plans to open a new restaurant at the 3,750-squarefoot building.
The seller, 53-59 Main Street LLC, was represented by Mark Prolman, who
also assisted the buyer, Diastole Holdings, LLC. Sale price was
$735,000, according to the Hillsborough County Registry of Deeds.
EDUCATION
Zi Chen, a
professor of engineering at Dartmouth College, has received a $400,000
grant from the National Science Foundation, in partnership with the
Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS), to lead a
three-year research project on the International Space Station. Chen’s
proposal was one of three selected from institutions across the country
as part of the NSF/CASIS solicitation to further knowledge of tissue
engineering and mechanobiology.
