CONCORD: New Hampshire Bankers Association organized its fifth annual month of service event (#NHBanksGiveBack) during the month of October to highlight efforts made by New Hampshire’s banking industry to support local communities. In all, 29 banks participated in raising $578,836 to benefit 441 organizations across 262 fundraising events around the state.
HUDSON: BAE Systems’ Compass Call Mission Crew Simulator (CCMCS) for the EA-37B electronic attack mission system has been approved for training by the U.S. Air Force. The simulator provides realistic training and mission rehearsal for crews of the EA-37B, the U.S. Department of Defense’s only long-range, stand-off, electromagnetic warfare jamming platform. The CCMCS provides the same controls, displays and systems as the EA-37B aircraft, providing crew members with training on electronic warfare operations, mission planning and execution, resource management, communication, decision-making and teamwork.
MANCHESTER: Montagne Powers is partnering with Saint Anselm College to launch a first-of-its-kind internship program in strategic communications and public affairs. The program will provide students with access to the fast-paced environment of a full-service agency, and opportunities to work on real client projects. Projects will span public relations, corporate communications, digital and social media, public affairs, community relations and marketing, led by experts from the region’s most recognized brands and organizations.
CONCORD: The first federally approved apprenticeship for the Granite State’s timber industry is the new Registered Apprenticeship Program for operating engineers offered at both HB Logging and HB Trucking in Monroe. ApprenticeshipNH, a workforce training program of the Community College System of NH and White Mountains Community College, partnered with NH Timberland Owners Association to offer this two- or three-year apprenticeship that combines 4,000 hours of paid, on-the-job training with 290 hours of related coursework.
BOSTON: The Northeast Microelectronics Coalition (NEMC) Hub has launched the POWER Program, a $1.2 million initiative to advance education, training programs and workforce development throughout the Northeast. The POWER Program, also known as the Preparing Our Workforce for Microelectronics Resiliency Program, is funded through the Microelectronics Commons Program and provides grant funding to organizations such nonprofits, private companies and local governments, to address existing workforce barriers. Eligible organizations are open to apply now for grants that will support and grow regional partnerships, internship programs, curriculum development and mentor programming. Applications are due by Dec. 15 at nemicroelectronics.org/power.
