1. Holy Rosary Credit Union (HRCU) recently announced the 18 recipients of its 2025 HRCU Annual Scholarship. The students received their scholarships at a ceremony at HRCU’s Rochester branch on June 16. The four award categories included high school or college students, employee children and participants of the HRCU Banking and Financial Services Program at the R.W. Creteau Regional Technology Center.

2. The Lake Estate on Winnisquam celebrated its official opening on Sept. 23 with a ceremony. The Lake Estate is a $90 million endeavor that includes 36 lakefront acres. The Lake Estate represents the vision of principal owners Dan Dagesse and his wife, Elaine, partnering with veteran hoteliers and minor investors Ed and Patti Rocco. The facility was designed by Samyn-D’Elia Architects of Holderness, NH, with interior design by Manuel de Santaren, Inc. of Boston.

3. Abigail Thistlewood, an RN at Concord Hospital – Laconia, has received the DAISY Foundation Award, which recognizes extraordinary compassionate care provided by licensed nurses. Thistlewood was recognized when caring for a long-term, complex surgical patient in the ICU at Concord Hospital – Laconia. Award recipients receive a DAISY certificate, a pin and a statuette representing the bond between nurses and patients.

4. The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua held its annual 2025 Scholarship Social on July 30, bringing together scholarship recipients and their donors. Twenty-one people were awarded a total of $65,000 in scholarships to support their continuing education in a diversified range of academic and professional goals.

5. Franklin Savings Bank recently donated $750 to Franklin High School’s Early College Program. The program helps students earn college credits through Lakes Region Community College. The bank’s donation will help cover the cost of books, an added expense.

6. The Southern New Hampshire Chamber of Commerce held the grand opening of Kids at Play Learning Center at its location at 8 Main St., Plaistow. Kids at Play is a daycare where children can explore, create and thrive. This family-owned and -operated center’s handson, play-based curriculum reflects its belief that play is learning.

7. Local band The Midnight Wrens performed a benefit concert and silent auction July 25 at The Word Barn in Exeter. Proceeds from the event went to support Oscar Grossman, who suffered a traumatic brain injury after performing work at the Seacoast School of Technology. The $20,000 raised will help the Grossman family modify their home for Oscar and to cover medical expenses. Food was provided by Lexie’s Burger Bus.
