1. In partnership with the NH Business Finance Authority (NHBFA), concrete sealers and coatings manufacturer Foundation Armor acquired a new 25,000-square-foot headquarters and warehouse facility in Amherst. Merrimack County Savings Bank helped finance the company’s expansion into the Granite State for both residential and commercial clients.

2. Home Health & Hospice Care (HHHC) recently received a $7,000 donation from Glenn Flessas, a longtime supporter, during his annual golf tournament in memory of his close friend, Fouad Laroussi. Fouad’s wife, Kathy, and daughter, Alisha, requested that the funds be directed to the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, where compassionate end-of-life care is provided to patients and their families across southern New Hampshire. 3. Monadnock Peer Support (MPS) has been designated as a Recovery Friendly Workplace by the Office of Governor Kelly Ayotte in its ongoing commitment to fostering a safe, healthy and supportive work environment for all employees, particularly those impacted by substance use and mental health challenges. MPS provides peer-led mental health services and promotes self-directed recovery, offering individuals a safe space to find connections and hope in stigma-free workplaces.

4. Mobile pet care provider Woofie’s of Concord-Manchester recently celebrated its grand opening , now offering pet care services for owners of dogs, cats and other animals in the South-Central New Hampshire area. Operated by Jennifer Flecker and her husband Arty, Woofie’s has doubled its staff since opening for business in March and has added an additional mobile pet spa to address increasing demand. Woofie’s of Concord-Manchester also offers 24/7 vet telehealth services through a collaboration with Pet Vet Connection.

5. Eversource and Elkridge Construction LLC celebrated the completion of the first net-zero homes in the Barrett Hill subdivision at Windsor Lane in Hudson. Once built, the project will bring 26 housing units to Hudson featuring three-bedroom two-and-a-half-bath units. Each housing unit was designed to the Passive House Standard, certified by the U.S. Department of Energy Net Zero Energy Ready Home Program and includes on-site solar power generation, electric vehicle charger circuit and optional battery. Each unit is also equipped with a low-emission heat pump, energy-efficient appliances, LED lighting and WaterSense fixtures that use 20% less water.

6. Late last month, hundreds of hikers participated in the Mt. Washington Observatory’s (MWOBS) 25th annual Seek the Peak Hike-a-Thon, where more than $290,000 was raised to support MWOBS operations, forecasting, research and educational programs. Following the hike, MWOBS hosted an Après Hike Expo at Great Glen Trails, featuring live music, giveaways, BBQ provided by Chef Joe’s Catering, Tuckerman Brewing Company’s beer garden, gear brands and activities for kids.
