WATER, WASTEWATER, AND HOUSING SESSION 1: AN OVERVIEW

WHAT: This session offers an overview of how water/wastewater infrastructure is a part of housing, focusing on examples of housing projects, big and small, with and without access to municipal water/sewer. Speakers include Andrew Winter, executive director, Twin Pines Housing; Jonah Richard, owner, Village Ventures; Noah Hodgetts, principal planner at NH Office of Planning & Development, speaking on the NH Zoning Atlas water/sewer overlay; and representatives from the VT Department of Environmental Conservation and the NH Department of Environmental Services. This session may be of particular interest to developers, home creators and municipal representatives.

PEOPLE LEADERS ACADEMY

WHEN: May 1-June 19, 9:30 – 11 a.m.

WHERE: Virtual

WHAT: NH Manufacturing Extension Partnership’s People Leaders Academy is led virtually but attendees have the same benefits of a physical classroom. Attendees participate in breakout sessions with peers, participate in the class and are assigned practice work to reinforce learning. Two live instructors for every class. Classes are 90 minutes long over 8 weeks and teach how to have a growth mindset, resolve conflicts, learn finance for non-financial people and how to hire and retain top talent, among other skills. Current managers or leaders, young professionals early in their careers and new managers are all encouraged to attend.

WHAT: Dartmouth’s Tuck School National Security Conference focuses on the strategic value chain that starts with critical minerals mined from the Earth and ends with the AI-powered applications on our smartphones. Within each of the industries (semiconductor manufacturing, critical mineral procurement/refinement, and advanced algorithm development) in this value chain, we observe frictions between government, business, venture capital and academia that cause these groups to collaborate ineffectively.
