1. The Southern NH chapter of 100 Women Who Care gathered for its quarterly meeting on Feb. 19, raising $10,000 to support Hearts for Kindness, a Concord-based financial assistance nonprofit aiding 13 New Hampshire communities. The chapter’s membership meets four times yearly to hear three charities pitch their initiatives to the chapter. Then, the 100 women collectively donate $100 per person to the nonprofit they selected as a chapter. The organization anticipates the total donation amount to be around $15,000 once all members have sent in their full contributions.

2. Littleton-based real estate agency Badger Peabody & Smith held its annual award celebration for staff mid-February, which included a dinner, award presentations and dancing at Whitefield’s Mountain View Grand Resort. Franconia office agent Beth Horan, pictured between Brendan Battenfelder and Andy Smith, was named Residential Sales Associate of 2024. Top agents were recognized for the firm’s other offices.

3. Seabrook business Infinity Massage Chairs, a luxury seating manufacturer, organized a food donation drive benefiting the Seabrook Community Action Center. The business’s employees contributed nearly 1,200 essential items like canned food and toiletries in the form of a company-wide contest. 4. Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB) recently purchased $10,000 in tax credits through the NH Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) to support Dover-based nonprofit Our Place NH. Our Place will provide residential living and other services to adults with intellectual disabilities. The credits will be used to renovate the nonprofit’s first housing property purchased in August. Our Place still had $61,000 in tax credits available to business owners as of Feb. 13.

5. The Marketing Association of Plymouth State (MAPS) University held its yearly Rail Jam winter sports competition on Feb. 21. About 70 students skied and snowboarded on a slope outside Hanaway Rink in Holderness, performing tricks on snow park elements provided by Gunstock Mountain. Around $3,500 in prizes was awarded to top participants in men’s and women’s divisions. Kieran Barnard is pictured launching over a rail.

6. Catholic Charities NH held its 19th annual Mardi Gras Gala on Feb. 22, raising over $260,000 to support Granite Staters in difficult life situations and facing hardships. The New Orleans-themed event took place at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Manchester, inviting charmingly costumed attendees like Matt and Sarah Currid, pictured.

7. Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) and Loon Mountain Resort partnered to host “Ski You in Florida,” a two-day event on March 1-2 promoting to skiers the airport’s growth with JetBlue’s new routes from MHT to Florida. JetBlue also recently announced a route to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City.
