AMS OSRAM UNVEILS LED LIGHTING INNOVATION
ams OSRAM (SIX: AMS) — a global manufacturer of lighting and sensor solutions with a branch in Hillsboro, NH — has unveiled the new DURIS E 2835 LED lights, which feature a specially designed lead frame and improved reliability in the field with reduced resistance to bending with flexible strips.
In addition, the company shared that the LEDs’ 2400 Kelvin CCT option will help compensate for the effects of the silicone encapsulant in waterproof applications such as swimming pool or garden pond lighting, to achieve a Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) of 3000 Kelvin when completed. The new LEDs also feature a high Color Rendering Index of 97, making them ideal for retail display lighting, museums and retail premises.
With a typical radiation angle of 120 degrees (Lambertian emitter), the DURIS E 2835 provides wide and uniform light distribution, which is simply perfect for general lighting applications, such as indoors and with architectural lighting.
According to a company release, its compact size, high CRI, luminous efficacy and innovative flexibility make it an exceptional choice for a wide range of uses. Whether for indoor, architectural or semi-outdoor lighting, the DURIS E 2835 delivers reliability and efficiency that sets a new standard in LED technology.
COMMUNITY POWER COALITION ANNOUNCES NEW ENERGY RATES
The Community Power Coalition of New Hampshire (CPCNH) has announced new electricity rates to go into effect on Aug. 1.
Community power allows municipalities to purchase power in bulk for residents, with the intent of negotiating lower rates and the potential for more energy from renewable sources. CPCNH is a nonprofit power agency established by New Hampshire cities and towns to manage administration and procure electricity, and locally.
Granite Basic, the default energy rate tier, has been set at 8.6 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh). Customers looking for more clean energy can choose from Granite Plus, Clean 50 and Clean 100, which provide 33%, 50% and 100% renewable energy, respectively. Granite Plus has been set at 9.3 cents per kWh, Clean 50 at 10 cents, and Clean 100 at 12 cents.
According to CPCNH, Granite Basic represents a savings of 22% off Liberty’s rates and 18% off Eversource’s and Unitil’s. CPCNH estimates that these new rates will generate another $11 million in savings on top of the $14 million they claim they have already saved.
