WHAT: The Greater Manchester Chamber strives to ensure its members stay informed on the local level and have direct access to the government officials leading our city. Please join us as we host a “State of the City” Breakfast Forum presented by Dartmouth Health to hear from newly elected Mayor Jay Ruais. Mayor Ruais is expected to conduct a presentation of his priorities and goals for 2024, followed by a dynamic conversation with moderator Scott Spradling. Topics will include the city budget, public safety, economic development, homelessness, the future of the city’s school district and his overall vision for Manchester.

This is a must presentation that every individual starting or running their business needs to attend! Topics to discuss include: federal taxes and your obligations to the IRS; are you in business?; type of business entity, including passthrough entities; taxable income; self-employment taxes; estimated tax payments; tax deductions, is it “ordinary and necessary” to run your business, what can you deduct; capital expenditures and the planning and tax benefits that come into play with bonus; section 179, depreciation on your equipment and mileage for your vehicle; business retirement plans; and more.

MAHLER’S RESURRECTION SYMPHONY

WHAT: The New Hampshire Philharmonic Orchestra is holding a collaboration with the soloists and choral groups from Plymouth State University and Keene State College. Together, they will deliver a performance of Gustav Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony. This event not only promises an evening of breathtaking music but also ties into Bradley Cooper’s portrayal of Leonard Bernstein conducting this same work in the recent release of Cooper’s film, “Maestro,” currently streaming on Netflix.

2024 NEW ENGLAND CRAFT BREW SUMMIT

WHAT: The New England Craft Brew Summit, the largest craft beer conference on the East Coast, will return to Portland, Maine. The theme of this year’s event will be “From Startup to Steady.” New England Craft Brew Summit will feature a range of presentations, panels and, new for 2024, tabletop discussions. Topics will range from how to get your product in more grocery stores to employee well-being and new technologies in brewing. The conference is expected to draw more than 500 industry professionals from across the region.
