1. UNH and Exail, a maritime autonomy and robotics firm, celebrated the opening of the Maritime Innovation Hub at UNH on July 15, as well as unveiling Exail’s DriX uncrewed surface vessel, that’s designed for ocean mapping and exploration. 2. The NH Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities (SCCNH), the official charity of NH Motor Speedway in Loudon, raised close to $100,000 during its NASCAR weekend, July 14-17. Since 2009, SCCNH has distribute more than $2.1 million to nonprofits that support more than 957,000 children across New England.



3. Elliot Health System received a $2.25 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to expand access to Medication-Assisted Treatment for substance use disorder by opening a MAT clinic at 140 Tarrytown Road in Manchester as well as employee training. 4. NHTrust presented a $1,000 donation to the Laconia Fire Department’s Life-Saving Fund, which supports the fire department’s advanced Technical Rescue Training. 5. U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan recognized Lt. Stephen Holmes of Candia (second from left) as July’s Granite Stater of the Month. Holmes, a Marine Corps veteran and a firefighter with the Exeter Fire Department, is working to destigmatize mental health among first responders by sharing his own experience with PTSD. Sen. Hassan commented, “Stephen exemplifies the Granite State spirit of commitment to community and person-to-person advocacy to bring about positive change. I am deeply grateful, as I know his fellow first responders are, for his bravery and compassion in sharing his personal experiences, and I look forward to seeing how he continues to change people’s lives.”



6. Alene Candles, a private-label candle and home fragrance manufacturer, was recently recognized by the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley for its longstanding support of the club by giving $10,000 or more in unrestricted dollars and other donations and scholarships to its STEAM club members looking to pursue a college education. 7. Eversource Energy donated $175,000 to United Way agencies across New England in support of its mission of helping families and individuals receive health, education and financial stability services.
