Another Sununu

Usually, the name “Michael Sununu” doesn’t pop up in media mentions. But recently, the bro of Guv Chris and former senator John E., has found himself in the newspapers (yes, there are still a few left) and other outlets.

Turns out MS — who’s chair of the Newfields selectboard — was called out by now-former board member Jacquelyn Silvani, who abruptly resigned her seat in March, claiming that Chair MS was engaging in “intimidation and harassment” of her. And it was so bad she said it triggered her PTSD.

JS, a Navy veteran, wrote in her resignation letter, “Michael, I have been yelled at and disrespected by you for the last time. This is not a collaborative board, it is an abusive one, one I will expose myself to no longer.”

Sununu: Name in the news

MS, after being handed the letter, said, “Thank you,” Seacoast Online reported, but he provided no other comment, either to JS or to a reporter.

BTW, MS’ name was in boldface type in Politico th’other day as well.

Turns out MS, through his Sununu Enterprises, recently registered a lobbyist in DC for the undersea fiber optic cable company SubCom, a U.S. company that recently won a $600 million contract to lay 12,000 miles of fiber optic cable to transport data from Singapore to France via the Red Sea.

The Politico item also pointed out that MS registered as a DC lobbyist “for the first time in more than a decade,” at a time when bro Chris “takes steps to potentially jump into the Republican presidential primary.”

“Remember ‘It’s a Wonderful Life?’ ‘Every time a bill rings an angel gets his wings?’ Every time a Republican tries to talk about abortion, somebody goes to the Democrat Party.”

— Guv Chris Sununu discusses the abortion issue in a Fox News interview.

“There are two people in this race that matter: myself and Donald Trump. You guys will face that choice.”

— GOP prez wannabe Vivek Ramaswamy. Say what?

Glutton for punishment?

To those of you who remember wistfully back to the days when Chuck Morse tried to run for the GOP US Senate nod, only to lose to Don Bolduc — the man Guv Chris called “not a serious candidate” — here’s some news for ya. Apparently, the ex-Senate prez is mulling a run for guv in 2024, now that the current Keeper of the Corner Office has all but taken himself out of the re-running.

Morse: Try, try again

And who sez CM is thinking about running for guv? Nunuther than the man who’ll make a living from another campaign: GOP super-campaign pro Dave Carney, who was quoted th’other day as saying, “Chuck’s busy talking to people, lining up support, putting financial components together” so he’ll be ready when the guv bows out.

Presidential plotting

As Robert F. Kennedy Jr. launches his Dem prez run, apparently hoping to do damage in an NH primary, it might be worth pointing out that RFKJ has a very interesting supporter working in the background.

As Robert Costa of CBS News reported th’other day, RFKJ — the man who’s arguably more responsible for the anti-Covid vax chaos of the last few years — was talked into running by nunuther than Steve Bannon, the man who is arguably as responsible for the political chaos and division on full display here and in Europe thanks to his work with just about any dictator or budding autocrat he can find.

RFK Jr.: Bannon’s boy?

RC reported that the ex-Trump strategist, who was recently convicted of contempt of Congress and has so far avoided a four-month jail sentence due to an appeal, spent several months urging RFKJ to run against Prez Biden in the 2024 election.

RC reported that SB saw RFKJ as a “useful chaos agent” in the election while also spreading “anti-vaccine sentiment around the country.”

For another view of RFKJ, look no further than a comment made about him by his sis, Kerry Kennedy, who in 2021 said her bro was “completely wrong” on the vax issue “and very dangerous.”

MAKING THE ROUNDS

Sure, there are lots of pols jumping about the Let’s Ban Tik-Tok bandwagon. And a lot of them are the same ones who are desperate to reach out to young voters.

The Senate is actually closer than ever to vote for pot legalization. But don’t light up just yet.

Now it’s the guv’s turn to join the anti-ESG procession — which really is an interesting stance for someone who claims he doesn’t want to impose more regulations on businesses.

The Trump peeps in NH are making it sound like no one else could possibly win the primary here, but why is it that some former big-time supporters of the ex-prez are jumping ship for other candidates, most recently House Deputy Majority Leader Fred Doucette of Salem?

For those keeping score at home, AG John Formella has joined yet another lawsuit filed by a certain brand of states who have filed an amicus brief with the US Supreme Court supporting the NRA in its legal fight with New York state.
