1. The Business & Industry Association recently celebrated the graduates of its 2022-2023 Emerging Leaders Training Program, produced by Sojourn Partners and presented in partnership with CEO & Family Enterprise Center. Participants in the 2022-23 class include NH Business Review’s Associate Editor Amanda Andrews, along with other managers, supervisors or solo contributors who have potential to advance into their organization’s leadership.


2. Merrimack County Savings Bank donated $10,000 to the Canterbury Shaker Village to support repairs to damages made to the roof of the 18th-century Dwelling House. The nonprofit anticipates project completion this spring, however, they are still working to secure $78,000 more in contributions to cover contractor costs.


3. Merrimack County Savings Bank recently contributed $10,000 towards the second phase of the Merrimack River Greenway Trail, a recreation trail being developed by the City of Concord as part of the Merrimack River Recreation and Open Space Corridor. The trail will extend from the northern end of the wetland in Terrill Park to the cornfields off Loudon Road, with plans to turn that land into a sunflower farm.


4. Insurance and benefits administrator FedPoint awarded the 2022 Titus Award to Senior Communications Associate Heidi Choate in recognition for her contributions to the overhaul, modernization and expansion of FedPoint’s internal and corporate communications channels and social media platforms. 5. Mike Capsalis, manager of the Hannaford on Fort Eddy Road in Concord, has been named Hannaford Supermarkets’ Store Manager of the Year, chosen out of 185 locations across New England and New York. For over three decades, Capsalis was awarded for his outstanding leadership skills, consistent support and engagement of associates, and deep commitment to the community.


6. Southern New Hampshire University’s President Paul LeBlanc has been chosen as the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce’s 69th Citizen of the Year for his commitment to the Manchester and global community. He was officially honored at a ceremony on April 11 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown on Elm Street.


7. Dartmouth Health received a $2.5 million gift from donors and former Dartmouth-Hitchcock Trustee Barbara Couch and her husband, Dick, (pictured here) to establish the Couch Endowed Fund for Inclusive Excellence Faculty Fellowships at Dartmouth Cancer Center. The fund will support the recruitment and retention of cancer clinician-scientists from under-represented groups in medicine, particularly those exploring health disparities and healthcare inequities.


8. NHTrust donated $750 to the Belknap House Family Homeless Shelter in Laconia in honor of national Random Acts of Kindness Day. A portion of the donation was given to the staff and volunteers so they could schedule a luncheon to recognize their dedication to the community. The remainder would be used at their discretion.
