Historic Holman Stadium in Nashua will be adding another chapter to its legacy: It will become a stop on the Black Heritage Trail of New Hampshire to memorialize its days as a home to the Nashua Dodgers, a team that in 1946 had as its members future Brooklyn Dodgers Don Newcombe, right, winner of the very first Cy Young Award, and Hall of Fame catcher Roy Campanella. Both players were Black, making the Nashua squad the first integrated Major League Baseball-affiliated team in the nation. A ceremony, at which a plaque will be unveiled, will take place at the stadium on May 30 before a Nashua Silver Knights game.
