WHERE: Flag Hill Distillery & Winery, 297 North River Rd., Lee

WHAT: Chef’s Table Dinner Series are dinner events that happen at Flag Hill. Their winter Chefs Table Dinner series is hosted in their post-andbeam dining room with community seating (6-10 people per table). Dinner reservations are $75 per person, of which includes the four-course dinner, wine/spirit/ or cocktail pairings with each course, tax and hospitality. Your entrée choice and any needed dietary restriction information must be provided at the time of making your reservation to the dinner. Menu will be: first course, Curried Pork Dumpling; second course, Roasted Mushroom Rosemary Salad; your choice of entrée (Black Pepper Pork Loin, Duck Confit Tortalloni or Potato Cochugang with Braised egg); and dessert, Winter Mille-feuille puff pastry.

WORKSHOP

NAVIGATING YOUR TAX RESPONSIBILITIES AS A SMALL BUSINESS OWNER

WHAT: Ashley Guion, a local CPA and QuickBooks ProAdvisor, will lead a workshop on navigating bookkeeping as a small business owner and what your tax responsibilities are. Participate in a discussion of entity choice selection, the pros and cons of each, and the tax responsibilities for each entity. Learn everything from the beginning steps of starting your own company to closing your books at the end of the year for tax prep. Learn what is required of you in terms of tax preparation, as well as how to lessen not only your tax liability but also your tax preparation bill. There will also be a segment devoted to bookkeeping and tips and tricks that you can do to keep your time focused on your income-producing activities rather than spending it doing bookkeeping.

FRAUD & CYBER CRIME AWARENESS FOR BUSINESSES

The discussion will be led by Kristine McIntyre, treasury management officer for TD Bank.

NH FOOD AND NUTRITION SECURITY SUMMIT

WHEN: Friday, Jan. 20, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

WHAT: The goal of the summit is to provide shared space and opportunity for attendees to build capacity and identify strategies to increase participation in federal nutrition programs (school meals, SNAP, WIC, etc.) and improve nutrition equity in New Hampshire. There will be sessions for everyone including public health and medical professionals, nonprofits, state and local government, direct service organizations, farmers, community members, education and researchers, community health workers, state and federal legislators, and charitable funders. The focus of the day will be on celebrating our 2022 successes and looking ahead to learn, plan and take action to improve health equity and eliminate hunger in New Hampshire.

COMEDY NIGHT FUNDRAISER

WHAT: The Greater Merrimack Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce is hosting a comedy night to benefit the Boys & Girls of Souhegan Valley, with a portion of the proceeds going directly to the programs at the nonprofit. Ticket price will include hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, games, prizes and more. The comedic lineup includes Brad Mastrangelo, Jody Sloane and headliner Rob Steen. Between them, they have appeared throughout New England and the United States at Headliners Comedy Clubs, Vegas, cruise lines, the David Letterman Show and others.
