Sara Ihle, administrative and technical coordination manager at The H.L. Turner Group, Concord, has been elected to the board of directors of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Granite State Chapter’s board of directors. Ihle has been with the company for 19 years and has been long involved with NAWIC.

CONSTRUCTION
Manchester-based wall and ceiling contractor Metro Walls is again expanding the company’s operations in the Northeast with the opening of an office in Elmsford, N.Y. With the new location, Metro Walls will have four offices, with others in Portland, Maine, and Westport, Mass. The expansion will help the firm broaden its reach into a territory that includes New York metropolitan area. Leading the new office are Denis O’Sullivan, who will be vice president of pre-construction, and Robert Moran, will serve as vice president of construction.
Reconstruction of the I-95 Piscataqua River Bridge between New Hampshire and Maine has won the 2022 Honor Award for Traffic Management and Planning in the American Council of Engineering Companies of Maine Engineering Excellence Awards competition. The work, performed by TYLin, will improve the safety of the bridge, develop rehabilitation designs and identify a way to move more traffic through the corridor using the existing structure. The busiest bridge in Maine, the 4,503-foot-long through-arch structure carries six lanes of Interstate 95 between Portsmouth and Kittery, Maine.
Ed Doherty will take over for Bob Engel Jr. as president of API of NH and Delta T, the Manchester-based distributor of heating and cooling products for mini-malls, restaurants and other commercial establishments. Engel, who has worked for the company for more than 42 years, will now focus on building his personal and professional relationships with employees, customers and vendors, he said, including mentoring new employees and working with new and existing customers and vendors. Doherty has been with API of NH and Delta T since 1989 and has worked in various departments, including sheet metal, warehouse, counter, and inside and outside sales. He has taken on roles such as branch manager, general manager and sales manager.

Ragan Communications has awarded “The Power of Prevention” podcast a 2022 PR Daily Awards in the Health Care PR and Marketing category. The podcast, produced by John Snow Inc. and the Community Health Institute in Bow, promotes the Partnership @drugfreeNH.
Launched in 2021, the podcast provides information about alcohol and other drug prevention. Murray Stall has been named Manchesterbased wedu’s email and customer journey manager, leading customer relationship management strategy, behavioral marketing, thought leadership, implementation and optimization. He has over 12 years of experience in client relationship management, spending most of his career at FanMail Marketing, most recently as marketing director.

Sheehan Phinney attorney Andrea G. Chatfield has been recognized with the Ry Perry HR Hero Award at the 2022 Granite State Human Resources Conference. The award, given each year, is awarded to an individual who takes pride in advancing the HR profession and devoting valuable time to volunteering in their community. Chatfield is a member of Sheehan Phinney’s Labor and Employment Group and provides advice and guidance to employers on risk management issues in the workplace.

Baker Newman Noyes has announced that John Hurley has joined the firm as chief people officer, overseeing recruiting, talent development and people operations. Prior to joining BNN, Hurley served as the senior director of human resources and employee relations at Ascend Learning.
BUSINESS SERVICES
Recordsforce, a Portsmouth-based provider of document scanning, document management and cloud services, is expanding operations with a new facility in Manchester. Adding to the nearly 20,000 square feet of office and warehouse space in Portsmouth, the new space doubles Recordsforce’s production capacity. “This new operation will provide needed space for employees and equipment for client document scanning and post-scanning storage,” said Amanda Perry, director of operations.
EDUCATION
Moody’s Investor Service recently affirmed the University System of New Hampshire’s A3 credit rating and improved its credit outlook from negative to stable, in acknowledgement of costcutting measures amid coronavirus pandemic operating challenges, the system announced. Moody’s noted that USNH reduced its operating costs by $50 million between 2019 and 2022, and it cited its strong donor support and low exposure to retirement-related liabilities. Moody’s also noted that the system’s performance is tempered by low statefunded support.

Margaret Levell has joined the Bedford office of TFMoran as a civil project engineer. She recently graduated with her bachelor of science in agricultural engineering and environmental and natural resources from Purdue University. In addition, the firm announced that Andrew Griffin recently earned his professional engineer license from the state of New Hampshire. He works as a structural project engineer in the firm’s Portsmouth office.

Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance announced that The Insurance Source has earned a 2022 Make More Happen Award, which recognizes its volunteerism with Keene Elm City Rotary Club. The award includes a $5,000 donation with a chance to double the amount to $10,000, which would go towards KECR’s “Move Everyday Sneaker Project” that will help students receive new sneakers and provide them with healthier, additional food options during school breaks and summer vacation.
Franklin Savings Bank has promoted Nancy Watson to assistant vice president, Boscawen branch manager; Jon Cayton to assistant vice president, Franklin branch manager; and Shelbie Swanson to Gilford branch manager. Watson joined the Bank in 1985 as a teller before moving up to branch manager of the New Hampton office in 2009. Both Cayton and Swanson started their careers with the bank in 2018 as Franklin branch manager and a personal banker, respectively.
Christopher Taylor has joined financial security company Northwestern Mutual in Portsmouth as a financial representative. Before joining the firm, Taylor was a director of operations at the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and he holds Life, Accident, and Health Insurance licenses in Maine and New Hampshire.

Jack and Andrea Carnevale, owners of the Bedford Village Inn, have announced that work has begun on their nine-home gated condominium community, Grand Avenue. The community is being built on an eight-acre parcel adjacent to The Grand at the Bedford Village Inn. Lots will be sold to individual buyers so they can customdesign their homes based on the slopeside views each lot offers, they said. A private road and sidewalks are expected to be completed by spring 2023, when construction of the private residences is expected to start. The community is being marketed by The Fine Homes Group at Keller Williams Realty Metropolitan.

AmeriHealth Caritas New Hampshire, a managed care organization serving New Hampshire Medicaid enrollees, has opened a new Wellness & Opportunity Center in Manchester. The center is designed to help AmeriHealth Caritas New Hampshire members overcome health barriers by providing greater access to healthcare and special programs and services that support more holistic, whole-person care.
Health Heartfelt Dreams Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing treatment for congenital heart defect patients and their families, has named Erica Yang as its 2022 Academic Nursing Scholarship recipient, with an award of $5,000 to go towards her nursing studies for the next academic year.
Jason Elliott has joined SolutionHealth as senior vice president and chief human resources officer. His previous roles include vice president of human resources at WellSpan Health in Pennsylvania and other HR leadership roles at hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio, and Portland, Maine. Debra Dulac has also joined the organization as senior vice president and chief information officer. She initially served as chief nursing information officer at Elliot Hospital and other leadership roles at Southern NH Health, Vidant Health in North Carolina, the University of Vermont Medical Center and Dartmouth Health in New Hampshire.

Amoskeag Health has hired Diane Maheux as its new chief financial officer/chief administrative officer. She has worked in New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts over her 27-year career in healthcare finance.
Granite VNA, Concord, has named Brita Murch as it director of human resources. She previously served as HR manager for Nashville, Tenn.-based Results Physiotherapy.
Dartmouth Health orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Vincent D. Pellegrini was recently recognized by the American Orthopaedic Association as a “Pillar of the Orthopaedic Profession,” an honor bestowed on orthopaedic surgeons, past and present, as leaders of the specialty. Honorees have served as clinicians, educators and researchers, providing support to others in the orthopaedic community.
Wentworth-Douglass Hospital has been awarded an “A” grade for safety by the Leapfrog Group, an independent, national nonprofit watchdog organization. An “A” grade is a sign that hospitals are continuously evaluating their performance, so that they can best protect patients.
Harbour Women’s Health has announced that nurse practitioner Stephanie Sevin has joined the practice. She has more than 15 years of experience in prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum and newborn patient care.
Dr. Steven H. Chapman, Dartmouth Health Children’s pediatrician and current Boyle Chair of Community Advocacy, has been awarded the 2022 Jennifer Wierwille Norton Advocacy in Action Award by New Futures, a nonprofit organization that advocates, educates and collaborates to improve health and wellness in New Hampshire through policy change. The award recognizes extraordinary advocacy efforts and sustained leadership of an individual in the field of addiction to alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
Cheshire Medical Center, a member of Dartmouth Health, has added three new providers to its medical staff: Dr. Amr El Meligy joins cardiology; Dr. Hannah Terrazzino joins the emergency department; and Dr. Kelsey Trombley joins family medicine. Cheshire also welcomed Jennifer Bey, a certified nurse midwife, to the obstetrics and gynecology department. She previously worked at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville, New York, and earned her master of science degree in nursing midwifery from SUNY Stony Brook in New York.
GOVERNMENT
The Dupont Group, a government affairs firm based in Concord, has added two new additions to its team: administrative and events coordinator Shannon Mounsey and associate Brendan Flaherty. Mounsey has an extensive background in public education as an elementary school teacher for nearly two decades. Flaherty is a recent graduate of St. Anselm College with experience in campaigns, communications and public policy.
Following approval by the Manchester Board of Mayor and Aldermen, the city’s Planning Department will be getting a $5.3 million, 48-month Lead Hazard Reduction/Healthy Homes Grant from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development to help owners of properties that contain lead hazards and housing code deficiencies. The funds include $4,667,825 for lead-based paint remediation and another $700,000 in funding to address hazards such as mold, radon and carbon monoxide found during lead remediation. Property owners of homes built in 1978 and earlier who rent to low-tomoderate income renters are expected to qualify for the program. Susan Ruka, community health manager at Memorial Hospital in North Conway, has been elected chair of the NH Commission on Aging. Ruka assumes the new job on Jan. 1.
James Gunter has been promoted to wine marketing and sales specialist by the NH Liquor Commission, overseeing all aspects of wine sales, including purchasing and promotions across the 67 outlet locations. Gunter succeeds Lisa Gosselin, who served in the position for six years and worked with NHLC for 27 years before retiring.

The Pats Peak ski area in Henniker is seeking teams to compete in its 33rd annual Pats Peak Adult/Corporate Racing Series for adult skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. Individuals or those who don’t have a complete team can be placed on other teams by contacting the Race Department. Cost is $800 per team and includes weekly races, a night lift ticket on race nights, prizes and après-ski party each race night. Yankee Publishing New Hampshire Group, Manchester, recently promoted Emily Heidt to be the new managing editor to its monthly lifestyle publication, New Hampshire Magazine. Heidt will also serve as managing editor of NH Home Magazine, a bi-monthly publication featuring home design inspiration. Recent UNH graduate Caleb Jagoda replaces Heidt as the assistant editor of New Hampshire Magazine. Yankee Publishing is parent company of NH Business Review.
Michael Tanner Jr. of Bedford has been named to the New Hampshire PBS board of directors. He currently serves as a program manager of F-15 International at BAE Systems in Nashua.

The Granite Outdoor Alliance, a membership-based advocacy nonprofit supporting New Hampshire’s outdoor industry, has announced new members to its board of directors: Scott Crowder, New Hampshire’s first director of Outdoor Recreation Industry Development and founder of the Pond Hockey Classic; Samantha Rokos, PR and marketing coordinator at NEMO Equipment; Chet Clem, president of Lyme Properties; Ericka Canales, executive director of Coös Economic Development Corporation; and Charyl Reardon, president of the White Mountains Attractions Association.
Newburyport Bank has donated $1,000 to the Boy Scouts of America Daniel Webster Council as a Platinum Sponsor of the Seacoast Good Scout Award Luncheon, which will honor Outstanding Citizens Denise Poulos, partner at Donahue, Tucker and Ciandella, PLLC, as well as Jeff Chidester, political/public policy analyst at iHeart Media Group.
The NH Center for Justice and Equity has been awarded a $112,000 operating support grant from the Nellie Mae Education Foundation to assist the Center in its efforts to describe and address the obstacles experienced by communities of color and similarly marginalized communities. As part of its initial activities, the Center plans to engage stakeholders and organizations across New Hampshire to establish a network of organizations working toward racial justice.
Bank of America recently awarded the Community Loan Fund a $40,000 grant to support its coaching and technical assistance for businesses owned by people of color. The grant will also help create multiple Community Business Advisory Councils made up of advisors and business owners who are predominantly people of color that can refer businesses and develop a peer-topeer network to share best practices. The bank also recently donated $5,000 to Camp Resilience in support of their First Responders “Armor Up” Retreat in 2022, which aims to improve the physical, social, mental and emotional well-being of military service members, veterans, first responders and their families with outdoor learning and sports activities, life skills training and peer-topeer counseling.
Hampton-based fitness chain Planet Fitness, its franchisees and members have raised $500,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America in October, a fundraising effort through Planet Fitness’ philanthropic initiative, The Judgement Free Generation, which aims to prevent bullying and promote kindness among youth. Through the fundraiser, held in honor of National Bullying Prevention Month, members donated at the front desk of U.S. Planet Fitness clubs and online at PFGives.com. Planet Fitness also donated 100 percent of proceeds from sales of its “You Belong” T-shirt. All funds raised directly support youth-focused programming and academic scholarships at Boys & Girls Clubs of America with the goal of building a kinder, more accepting world for the next generation. Friends of Tuckerman Ravine and the White Mountain Avalanche Education Foundation have merged to form Mount Washington Avalanche Center Foundation. The merger is aimed at supporting and promoting the Mount Washington Avalanche Center.
Benjamin Harth has been appointed to the board of directors of Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity. Harth is an architect at Market Square Architects in Portsmouth.
Nathan Wechsler & Company has selected Cydney Dodge as a 2022 Sandra C. Larabee Volunteer Values award winner for the Eastern New England Area of the American Cancer Society. Dodge is the volunteer event chair for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of New Hampshire, an annual walk that raises both funds and awareness for breast cancer research through the American Cancer Society, where she’s been volunteering for 26 years.
The NH Liquor Commission has been recognized among the top control states in the country for the seventh consecutive year in StateWays magazine’s annual Control State Best Practices Awards. The Commission was awarded Best Stakeholder Outreach Program for its $4 billion milestone educational campaign and Best Technology Innovation for its curbside sales and in-store pickup program.
The BJ Cirnigliaro Memorial Fund, which was created in early 2021 by Absolute Title, has announced it has presented $20,000 in donations to five organizations: Families in Transition, Southern New Hampshire Services, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention New Hampshire Chapter, Gather and Waypoint. The company, with locations in Bedford, Concord and Portsmouth, created the memorial fund to honor its longtime employee, BJ Cirnigliaro, who unexpectedly passed away in 2020. He was one of the company’s first employees and, as senior vice president, opened the company’s office in Portsmouth in May 2019.

Jeffrey Kevan to retire after 30 years at TFMoran
After nearly 30 years at TFMoran Inc., Jeffrey M. Kevan, principal and Civil Engineering Department manager, will be retiring from the company at the end of 2022. TFMoran President Bob Duval said of Kevan:
“Throughout his tenure, we have all benefited from his engineering expertise and strong commitment to our clients. Over the years, his many contributions have helped make TFMoran the strong and well-respected company we are today.” Nick Golon of the firm’s Bedford office will succeed Kevan as manager of the Civil Engineering Department.
