
1. The Boston Celtics honored Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Security Officer Andy Clark for the heroic acts he conducted on Sept. 12 when he rushed to a vehicle outside the hospital to assist a woman who gave birth in her car. Clark assisted the child by unwrapping the umbilical cord that was around its neck, ultimately saving its life. Clark and his family received VIP treatment from the Celtics team, and he was given a standing ovation by a sold-out crowd at the TD Garden.

2. The Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce celebrated Sarah & Michael Buckley at their 94th Annual Gala & Citizen of the Year Celebration on Nov. 9. In the mid-1990’s, the Buckley’s revitalized Downtown Nashua when they opened their first restaurant, Michael Timothy’s (MT’S Local) restaurant on Main Street, then Surf in 2002, followed by Buckley’s Steaks in Merrimack in 2005. 3. Bar Harbor Bank & Trust employees donated more than $13,000 through the Bank’s employee-driven charitable giving program, Casual for A Cause, to six Northern New England nonprofit organizations, one of whom was the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley. 4. Merrimack County Savings Bank recently purchased $10,000 in tax credits to help support the Currier Museum of Art’s Chandler House Restoration Fund. Facilitated through the Community Development Finance Authority, the funds will be used to restore the Chandler House in Manchester into a gallery, ceramic studio, art classrooms and office spaces.

5. The Community College System of New Hampshire honored Jeremy Hitchcock with the Walter R. Peterson Education and Public Service Award for his leadership and support of New Hampshire’s community colleges. Alongside his business enterprises, Hitchcock has been a champion of higher education, advocating for and supporting workforce development and education initiatives in New Hampshire. He served for 13 years on the CCSNH Board of Trustees and four years as chair before stepping down in 2021.

6. Tom Coffey, senior VP of sales and consulting at Merchants Fleet, has been inducted into the Fleet Hall of Fame by the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association. Mike Antich (right), editor of Automotive Fleet and emcee of the ceremony, said this of Coffey: “During his 38 years in the fleet management industry, Tom has had a strategic influence on hundreds of client fleets around the country … and has been a strategic catalyst in influencing fleet optimization, ranging from Six Sigma management to today’s electrification transition.”
