Service Credit Union announced a couple promotions within the company, and welcomed a new hire.
Meghan Leach, most recently assistant vice president of the Contact Center, has been promoted to vice president of retail banking, and Ryan Healey, formerly AVP of member services, has been promoted to AVP of the Contact Center. Joining the Service CU team is Jillian Cote, who will be the assistant vice president of legal.
Christina Simpson has been promoted to assistant vice president, commercial digital small business lending and credit analyst, at Meredith Village Savings Bank.
Devin Cowette of Bow has joined Ledyard National Bank as a senior portfolio manager in the Ledyard Financial Advisors division. Most recently, he was a vice president and portfolio manager at Bar Harbor Wealth Management.
Jennifer Wood was recently promoted to vice president and assistant corporate controller at NH Mutual Bancorp, based out of the Concord Foundry location. She joined NHMB in 2019 as assistant vice president and assistant corporate controller.
Franklin Savings Bank has announced the promotions of Amy Rankins to vice president and human resources officer and Jessica Price to vice president and controller. Joining the bank in 2017, Rankins has held various positions in the industry. Price joined the bank in 2008 as a part-time teller in the Tilton office. She is a licensed CPA.
Franklin Savings Bank has promoted Jim DuBois to executive vice president and senior loan officer, and Joe Thornton to executive vice president and chief administrative officer. DuBois has been with the bank since 2014 and has over 40 years of industry experience. Thornton began his career with the bank in 1992 that spans more than 30 years.
Jessica Cabinta has joined Bar Harbor Bank & Trust as vice president, regional relationship manager. She has more than 12 years of experience in financial services, holding various roles at other financial institutions such as Santander Bank, Eastern Bank and Primary Bank.
ARCHITECTURE
The H.L. Turner Group Inc., Concord, has hired Douglas Brodeur as a senior civil engineer. He has over 20 years of experience, with an emphasis on land development and permitting, municipal projects and stormwater infrastructure design.
Its design of the Center School in Greenfield, Mass., earned Banwell Architects, Lebanon, a Fall 2022 Award for Outstanding Projects from Learning By Design Magazine. The school serves 130 students from Pre-K to 8th grade.
BUSINESS SERVICES
Recordsforce, a Portsmouth-based provider of document scanning, document management and cloud services, is expanding operations with a new facility in Manchester. The company says the expansion represents a significant increase in capacity due to demand for its outsourced digital mailroom services.

DECCO Inc., Nashua, has named four new employees to executive positions: Caryn (Turchi) Morse, who has been named director of media and marketing, has over 26 years of marketing, design and communications experience in the construction, manufacturing and healthcare industries; Kristin Condon, who also has over 26 years of experience as an accounting professional, has been named controller of the firm; Adam Lebel, with over 12 years of experience and has plumbing and HVAC licenses, has been named manager of the firm’s Clean Utilities Services Program, overseeing maintenance, operations, project management and maintenance plans for pharmaceutical clients; and Matt Donnelly, with over 10 years of experience in technical services, has been named Decco’s IT manager.

Cynthia Merrill of Durham has been named director of regions for the Northeast at Western Governors University, a nonprofit online university. Merrill is also the founder of Durhambased The Literacy Consortium, which delivers K-12 training on literacy and technology integration to schools nationwide, and for nearly 10 years served on the University of New Hampshire faculty.

Just Flow Events & Marketing, Manchester, has been recognized with two 2022 Silver Davey Awards. An award in the Integrated Campaign Nonprofit category was presented to the agency for its 150th anniversary integrated marketing campaign for Spaulding Academy & Family Services. The second award was presented in the Virtual & Remote Experiences category for the firm’s 2020 Easterseals NH Veterans Count Salute Our Soldiers virtual event program, which celebrated the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II.
Millennium Agency, Manchester, has been awarded a w3 Gold Award in the General Website-Manufacturing category in recognition of its website design work for XMA Corp.

Wanda Keenan of Laconia has joined Roche Realty Group. Previously the owner and operator of Paramount Settlement Services, Laconia, she oversaw thousands of real estate closings. She also has experience in home financing.
Nashua-based Granite Commercial Real Estate has announced the sale of 256 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, a 4,766-squarefoot industrial building on 2.2 acres. James Prieto, director of real estate at the firm, represented the seller in the transaction.
Melville, N.Y.-based A&G Real Estate Partners is marketing for either leasing or subleasing 81 store-fronts next to Pep Boys Service Centers across the United States, including several in New Hampshire. Ranging in size from 6,400 to 15,700 square feet, the shuttered storefronts previously were home to Pep Boys’ aftermarket parts business. The 101-year-old retailer has discontinued retail parts sales in these spaces to focus on its co-located Pep Boys Service Centers.
Condor Capital is proposing a 128-unit apartment building in downtown Somersworth.
The four-story building would house mostly one-bedroom apartments, each about 750 to 850 square feet. The project is still in its preliminary stages, and has been under review by the city’s Historic District Commission, Foster’s Daily Democrat reported.

Elliot Health System has added four new providers to its practices: Sheena Punnapuzha, board-certified in emergency medicine, joined Elliot Emergency Medicine Specialists; Claudia Soltys joined Elliot Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery; Mary Baillargeon joined Elliot Breast Health Center in Londonderry; and Alyssa Robitaille, a board-certified nurse, joined the medical surgical team.
Southern New Hampshire Health has added four new providers to its practices: Michael Horgan, a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurosurgeon, joins Foundation Neurosurgery at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center; Kathryn Becker, a board-certified nurse practitioner, joins Foundation Neurosurgery at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center; Ernest Tabiri joins Immediate Care of Hudson; and Mary Miller, APRN, joins Foundation Community Care.
SolutionHealth, the umbrella organization that includes Southern New Hampshire Health in Nashua and Elliot Health System in Manchester, has named Clifford R. Kinghorn, senior status circuit court judge, as chair of its board of trustees. Kinghorn is a six-year member of the board of Southern New Hampshire Health. Bobbie D. Bagley, Nashua’s director of public health and community services, and Joseph Leahy, a staff emergency medicine physician at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, have also been named trustees.
Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, has been named one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Surgery by Healthgrades, a leading marketplace connecting doctors and patients. Healthgrades evaluated patient mortality and complication rates for 31 of the most common conditions and procedures at nearly 4,500 hospitals across the country to identify the top-performing hospitals for specialty care.
BASC, the Bedford Ambulatory Surgical Center, has been listed by Newsweek in the top 500 Ambulatory Surgical Centers in the United States. BASC was the only surgical center in New Hampshire to make the list.
BASC, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, was launched with six surgeons and, today, 40 physicians work regularly out of is operation.
LAW
McLane Middleton has added Christopher J. Walsh to the firm as an associate in the Litigation Department. He focuses his practice on white collar criminal defense, government and internal investigations, and other commercial litigation.
The firm of Shaheen & Gordon has added attorneys Madeline Blackburn and Simone Washington to the firm. Both are alumni of the firm’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) summer internship program, when they spent five weeks working with attorneys on legal work and another five weeks at community organizations. Blackburn will be based out of the firm’s Dover office, and Washington will be based out of the Concord office.
Shaheen & Gordon has opened a new and expanded office at 191 Main St. in downtown Nashua. The firm now occupies 7,000 square feet in the building that once was home to the Second National Bank of Nashua. The office will have six attorneys: Jared O’Connor, whose practice involves workers’ compensation; Francis Murphy, a personal injury attorney; Ron Abramson, an immigration attorney; Andrew Piela, who does family law and probate litigation; Lyndsay Robinson, whose cases include family law, estate planning and immigration; and Brittani Schanstine, an employment law and workers’ comp attorney.
Domingo Mohedano has been named vice president and general manager of Laars Heating Systems, Rochester, a U.S. designer and manufacturer of boilers, water heaters and pool heaters that’s part of the Bradford White Corp. Mohedano previously worked for Rheem Manufacturing and Cummins Inc.
GOVERNMENT
Sullivan County has been awarded $25.2 million by the Governor’s Office for Emergency Relief and Recovery’s County Nursing Home Infrastructure Program, to help fund the planned renovation of the county nursing home, which is expected to cost up to $63 million. In August, the county delegation unanimously approved a $20 million bond for the project with a provision that county commissioners could bond an additional $6 million if the project’s total cost warrants it. The rest of the funding will come from $2 million the county has received in federal funds, $7 million from the county’s share of the American Rescue Plan Act and up to $5 million from the county’s capital reserve fund.
The town of Swanzey has hired Julius Peel of Washington, NH, as its land use and zoning coordinator. He previously interned with the town in 2020, and after that served as land-use assistant for the town of Milton and town administrator in Deering.
MEDIA
NH Public Radio has announced a series of promotions: reporter Daniela Allee has been promoted to senior news editor, overseeing reporting on climate and environmental issues; Casey McDermott, an investigative/data reporter and editor, has been named senior news editor overseeing reporting on education and health and equity; and Mary McIntyre, NHPR’s “Morning Edition” producer, has been promoted to senior producer of news magazines. In addition, NHPR has added a new Couch Fellow, Jeongyoon Han, who joins the station from her recent stint as a production intern at NPR’s “Weekend Edition.”
Yankee Publishing has named Kim Knox Beckius as its travel and branded content editor. She will contribute to all of Yankee’s channels, including the bimonthly print magazine, NewEngland.com, the Weekends with Yankee public television series and its social media platforms. She is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers, an author of several books, and speaks publicly about travel and wellness around New England.
SPORTS
Internationally known mountaineer Kristin Harila has joined the leadership of Lebanonbased Global Rescue’s Mountain Advisory Council. Global Rescue, a provider of medical, security, evacuation and travel risk management services, has helped successfully rescue mountaineers since its founding in 2004.
King Pine Ski Area, Madison, has added Chris Setchell to its leadership team as ski school director. Setchell has experience with ski school management and race coaching in countries such as New Zealand, Canada, Denmark and throughout the U.S.
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats Double-A baseball team has named Michael Neis as its new general manager. The position marks a return to Manchester for Neis, who began his career in professional sports as an inside sales representative with the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League.
He also spent parts of seven seasons with the Oakland Athletics, most recently serving as director of membership and premium services.
NONPROFITS
Granite United Way received a $65,000 award from the IRS for the nonprofits’ Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, which will help enhance their free tax prep services. Granite United Way applied on behalf of the CA$H (Creating Assets, Savings & Hope) Coalition, which is led by the organization, in the hopes of helping low- to moderate-income households claim refunds like the Earned Income Tax Credit.
The 16th annual Keller Williams charity auction at Manchester’s Derryfield Country Club raised some $105,000 through live and silent auctions, raffles, door prizes and event sponsorships. The funds will be distributed to local nonprofits that work to improve the lives of children and families, including the Boys & Girls Club of Manchester, the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester and Neighbor-Works Southern New Hampshire, among others. Organized annually by Keller Williams Realty Metropolitan, with offices in Bedford, Concord, Keene and Londonderry, the event has raised over $1 million in direct donations since its inception.
The Nature Conservancy in New Hampshire has named Rachel Rouillard as state director. Rouillard, previously director of conservation strategy for The Nature Conservancy in New Hampshire, spent over a decade before that as executive director of the Piscataqua Region Estuaries Partnership and served as founding executive director of the state’s Land and Community Heritage Investment Program.
The 23rd Annual Celebration for Mental Health benefit, held Oct. 24, raised over $100,000 through live and silent auctions, raffles and event sponsorships for the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester. The proceeds will be used to help children, teens and adults in greater Manchester access treatments, services and programs offered at the Mental Health Center.
The Zonta Club of Concord is accepting applications for its 2023 Young Women in Public Affairs scholarship. The award will be presented to a woman aged 16 to 19 who is attending high school in central New Hampshire and has demonstrated commitment to volunteerism, service to others and advocacy through their involvement in school, community and other public affairs. Anthony Grieco has been named the new executive director of the Salem Animal Rescue League. Most recently, Grieco was vice president of international banking operations at Eastern Bank.
Bank of New Hampshire has contributed $8,000 to the Partnership for Public Health for the purchase of an emergency response cargo trailer. The new trailer is designed to allow the Lakes Region Community Emergency Response Team and the Lakes Region Medical Reserve Corps to more efficiently respond to calls by the NH Department of Health and Human Services, NH Homeland Security and their community partners as their teams travel across the region.
Harmon’s Snowshoemen — a nonprofit group of historical reenactors that present living history events at Rollinsford’s Colonel Paul Wentworth House — has been chosen by the Association for Rollinsford Culture and History (ARCH) as the recipients of the 2022 ARCH Heritage Award, which recognizes those who have made significant contributions to the preservation of the history, heritage and culture of Rollinsford and the lower Salmon Falls region.
The Granite YMCA has hired Elizabeth Pinard as human resources director. She started her career with Delta Management Associates and then moved on to other organizations, including Southern New Hampshire University, where she was senior human resources business partner.

Talon, a Portsmouthbased provider of healthcare technology solutions, has hired Dan Mayton as chief revenue officer. He has over 20 years of experience with a background in human capital management, healthcare, benefits administration, insurance and financial technology.
Portsmouth-based Position Imaging Inc., a maker of package logistics and asset tracking systems, has unveiled OPTECH In-Room Scanning, a new feature for its Smart Package Room platform. The feature, which leverages the same hand-held scanning process couriers are familiar with to automatically assign packages to residents in multifamily communities, improves accuracy and compliance and streamlines their work by 50 percent, Position Imaging said.

Mascoma Community Development is sponsoring the Regional Economic Development Center of Southern New Hampshire’s NH Kiva microloan hub with a $90,000 grant that will assist in providing ongoing technical assistance through the program. Kiva is an international nonprofit that aims to expand financial access to under-served communities in the U.S. through zero-interest crowdfunded loans.
