ACCOUNTING




Melanson has promoted Laurie Garland and Andrew Gordon to managers in the Governmental Services Department of the firm. Garland has been with Melanson for 10 years, and Gordon for nine years. They are both members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.


TECHNOLOGY

Datanomix, maker of automated production intelligence software, has partnered with Flexxbotics, a leader in robotics process improvement technology, to extends its automated production intelligence coverage to Universal Robot cells, helping power lights-out and automated operations at precision manufacturers.


HOSPITALITY

The Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART) has awarded Jason Lyon, president and COO of Flatbread Company, Inc., with their 2022 Commitment to People Award, for his demonstration of outstanding commitment to the development of his associates.

Heather Owen, owner and art director of H2O Salon Spa & Boutique, is now back “behind the chair” at the award-winning Bedford salon, after being away for a while due to undiagnosed Lyme disease.

The Winnipesaukee Flagship Corp. announced that Captain Jim Morash has retired as the company’s general manager, and that Jared Maraio has been promoted to the position.


ENGINEERING

Hancock Associates, a provider of land surveying, civil engineering and wetland science services, has announced that James M. O’Neil of Bedford has joined the firm as survey manager in its Chelmsford, Mass., office.


GOVERNMENT

Franklin resident Bonnie Walshaw was recently confirmed as the new director of the Collection Division of the NH Department of Revenue Administration. Walshaw, a 33-year veteran of the agency, replaces Ora LeMere, who was recently promoted to assistant commissioner of NHDRA. In the Collection Division director role, Walshaw is responsible for overseeing the collection of all outstanding taxes, while educating operators about their responsibilities regarding the Meals and Rentals Tax.


FINANCIAL SERVICES

Global Rescue — a Lebanon-based organization that offers medical, security, travel risk and crisis management services to its members — has received ISO 9001:2015 certification, which verifies the company’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Two New Hampshire insurance agencies — the Insurance Center in Claremont and McCrillis & Eldredge in Newport — are combining their organizations, but will continue to operate under both brands, and both principals will remain at the helm.


BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS

The Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce has shortened its name to the Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber, and launched a new logo to match its renewed mission ahead of its 60th anniversary to be celebrated in 2023.

Kevin Kneeland was recently named the Seacoast Board of Realtors’ 2022 Realtor of the Year. Kneeland works with Compass New England, Portsmouth, and serves as treasurer of the Seacoast board. In addition, Jeremy Forest of Bridges Brothers Movers, Exeter, was recognized as 2022 Affiliate of the Year, and Pam Chaffee of Better Homes & Garden Masiello Group, Hampton, was presented with the board’s annual Good Neighbor Award.

The Manchester Development Corp. has named Suzanne Brunelle as its new chair. Brunelle, an attorney and a shareholder with the law firm of Devine Millimet, succeeds longtime chair William Craig.




Savings Bank of Walpole’s Christine Greenwood-Smart and Sarah Rosley were recently recognized as 2021 Top Mortgage Loan Originators for bank mortgage programs both statewide and regionally by the Registry Review, which annually publishes data collected by The Warren Group outlining the top loan originators in the state and its regions based on total dollar volume and number of loans closed. In the most recent rankings, Greenwood-Smart and Rosley were included in both the top 10 list statewide and the top five list in the Monadnock Region.


CONSTRUCTION

North Branch Construction recently completed construction at Bagdad Wood Senior Apartments in Durham, a $6.5 million, 29,188-square-foot project that included a new three-story addition that provides an additional 26 senior housing apartments, site improvements, changes and additions to parking areas, and renovations of existing common area spaces. Lassel Architects of South Berwick, Maine, provided architectural design services.








Also at North Branch: Kevin Zins of Londonderry has joined the firm as project superintendent, Ken Dufresne of Canterbury has joined the firm as a project superintendent and Kristine McDevitt joins North Branch as project engineer. In addition, Kelli Mackay has been hired as accounts payable and human resources assistant.


HEALTHCARE

Dr. Paul Brown has joined Riverbend Community Mental Health as chief medical officer. He has 35 years of experience as a psychiatrist, having completed the psychiatry residency program at Brown University, and he earned his MD from the University of Connecticut Health Center.

James Montecalvo has been named regional vice president of sales for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in New Hampshire, after serving as the regional vice president of underwriting since 2015.

Access Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics has added Dr. Jeffrey Smith to the practice. He specializes in the evaluation and management of back pain, non-operative spine care and musculoskeletal medicine, with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and pain syndromes, fluoroscopic and interventional procedures of the extremities and the spine, and electrodiagnostic medicine.

Grace Nadeau, a licensed nursing assistant with Home Care, Hospice & Community Services in Keene, was selected as New Hampshire’s Nursing Assistant of the Year by the Home Care, Hospice & Palliative Care Alliance of New Hampshire for exemplifying the best of the profession in a home care setting.


NONPROFITS

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua has been named a 2022 Champion in Action in the category of Innovation & Transformation by Citizens and the NH Union Leader. The honor includes $35,000 in unrestricted funding, as well as promotional and volunteer support for the organization.

Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity received a $15,000 grant from Wells Fargo to build Veteran Family home in Farmington for a veteran and his family. The organization was one of 230 Habitat for Humanity affiliates awarded a grant from the foundation as part of its initiative to help low- and moderateincome families build and improve their homes.

Duncan Rae, an associate at Nathan Wechsler & Company, PA, has been appointed to Kreiva Academy’s board of trustees as treasurer.

Brad Borbidge, recently retired principal at BerryDunn, was awarded the Home Care & Hospice Service Award by the Home Care, Hospice and Palliative Care Alliance of New Hampshire, recognizing his 35 years of commitment to New Hampshire’s home care and hospice agencies.


NH LAKES, a statewide nonprofit dedicated to restoring and preserving the health of New Hampshire’s lakes, welcomed Jim Torpey to its board of directors.

Tim Murphy, executive director of the Southwest Region Planning Commission, joined the Board of Directors of the Monadnock United Way in March, serving on their Impact and Evaluation Committee.

Elizabeth Swan Underhill is the new marketing director for Mountain Valley Treatment Center, a nonprofit residential program in Plainfield for adolescents suffering from debilitating anxiety and OCD. She was previously director of marketing for H.P. Hood Inc.


REAL ESTATE

Manchester-based Brady Sullivan Properties has sold the former Indian Head Bank building, one of downtown Nashua’s most recognized properties, for $1.6 million to a Massachusetts firm that plans to convert the structure into apartments.

Vacant at the time of the sale, the building at 146-150 Main St., consists of over 18,000 square feet and features period architecture, vaulted ceilings and oversized windows, as well as a dedicated parking lot on-site. The buyers were Massachusettsbased developers Giancarlo Tiberi and Greg Donovan of Core Development. They have master-planned a residential conversion of the office property, calling for 22 apartments over the three stories. James Tobin facilitated the sale on the seller’s behalf along with Charles Panasis and Jamison Bibaud of Brady Sullivan.

Vespar Duffy has joined the Franconia office of Peabody & Smith Realty as a sales agent. Duffy was the owner/operator of a hair salon and spa in North Conway for many years and now lives in Franconia.

Harry Wesson of Wesson Realty, a Rochester real estate firm, has received approval from the Rochester Planning Board to open a pickleball complex with five indoor and four outdoor courts. Foster’s Daily Democrat reported that Wesson plans to open the entire complex in phases. Wesson said his goal is to open at least two indoor courts this winter, complete with locker rooms and a reception area. The remaining courts will be open during 2023.




Keller Williams Metro, Bedford, has named Realtors Cheryl Grant of Londonderry and Kris LaBrake of Concord growth managers for the firm. Grant serves the KW Metro Londonderry branch and LaBrake serves the KW Metro Concord branch. Growth managers provide productivity coaching, weekly training and individualized support to agents, recruit agents and manage their branch offices.
