1. Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB) has sponsored the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center’s Giant Insects exhibit with $5,000. Now through Sept. 30, visitors can view large animatronic insects along the Center’s live animal trail and learn about the important role insects play in the preserving the balance of nature. 2. Grappone Automotive Group has pledged another $25,000 in business tax credits to support the redevelopment of the Gale School in Belmont, which will transform the historic schoolhouse into a community facility that will include a new early learning center operated by the Boys & Girls Club and a new program center operated by Lakes Region Community Services. 4. Port City Makerspace, a nonprofit community membership shop in Portsmouth, receive five brand new sewing machines for its members, thanks to a $2,550 grant from Kennebunk Savings Bank and community support from Seacoast Sewing and Quilting, also in Portsmouth. 5. The YMCA of Greater Nashua has received a $10,000 Community Impact Grant from New York Life to support the YMCA’s Power Scholars Academy, an academic instruction in literacy and math summer program offered to students in the Nashua public school system. 6. The NH Association of Broadcasters has awarded $18,000 in scholarships for the 2022-2023 school year to 11 students in the state who are pursuing a career in broadcasting, journalism or a related field, while enrolled in a two or four-year accredited school. The recipients — chosen based on academic achievement, financial need, extracurricular and community involvement, and an essay about their interest in broadcasting — were: Drew Hallett, Dover; Payton Cavanaugh, Troy; Benjamin Weed, Exeter; Benjamin Adams, Hampstead; Amanda Goyette, Nashua; Abigail Mitchell; Alexandra Bessette; Seneca Baldi; Makenna Lord; Ella Lange; and Owen Young.
