ANNUAL LEGISLATIVE DINNER

WHEN: Monday, May 9, 5 – 8 p.m.

WHERE: LaBelle Winery, 345 NH Route 101, Amherst

WHAT: The Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Fidelity present the Annual Legislative Dinner, which brings together leaders of the business community and elected officials to help form productive relationships that will enhance the legislature’s ability to enact sound policies. The program will feature a moderated panel discussion between members of the House and Senate. Each legislator will have the opportunity to give brief remarks followed by a panel discussion on the key policy issues in front of the Legislature this year. Attendees will be able to submit or ask questions of the panel at the event. The dinner also gives attendees the opportunity to become more familiar with the Chamber’s priorities in the area of government affairs and advocating for our member businesses.

She works with leaders and organizations to optimize the development of themselves and/or their teams, as well as supports and guides leaders in balancing their conflicting responsibilities, so that they can show up as a clear, confident and effective leader.

It provides peace of mind that their children are in a safe, learning, caring environment and the ability to focus on their jobs and careers. In today’s strained labor market, accessible child care is even more important in helping parents and caregivers reenter the workforce post-Covid. Child care options can also attract new families to the region to fill open positions. But our region lacks open child care spaces for a variety of reasons large and small. Join a panel of child care professionals, employers and funders to discuss the issues surrounding The Child Care Conundrum and how the business community can help overcome this issue. Speakers include Liz Larose, president, Monadnock United Way; Suelaine Poling, executive director, Keene Day Care Center; Annie Dintino, program manager, Impact Monadnock; and a member of the Community Development Finance Authority.

CANTERBURY SHAKER VILLAGE CROSS COUNTRY 5K RACE

WHEN: Saturday, May 14, 10 a.m.

WHERE: Canterbury Shaker Village, 288 Shaker Rd., Canterbury

WHAT: In partnership with the Capital Area Race Series (CARS) and Millennium Running, Canterbury Shaker Village will host its annual 5K Cross Country Race on Saturday, May 14 at 10 a.m. All are welcome to run or walk the unpaved course, which wraps around the Village’s trails, fields, ponds and pastures. In addition, every race has an option to run virtually. The fee to register is $25, and the deadline is Thursday, May 13 at noon. (There will be no day-of registration.)

2022 ENERGY INNOVATION CONFERENCE

WHAT: Gathering the top minds in the energy field to discuss new ideas, emerging trends and exciting technologies, speakers will shed light on how the next generation of clean energy policies can capitalize on the cost declines of renewable energy technologies to ensure that a zeroemission future is affordable to all.

The conference features an afternoon of speakers giving short “TEDx style” presentations about new technologies, business models and policy frameworks that have the potential to reshape the state’s energy landscape. It will also include networking breaks for attendees to interact with representatives of the companies presenting their vision, as well as an “after hours” with the speakers and CENH member businesses at the Tap House Grille in Hooksett.
