Life Forest, Hillsborough, has been awarded a Level 01 Accreditation by The ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program and The Morton Arboretum, for achieving particular standards of professional practices deemed important for arboreta and botanic gardens. The ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program is the only global initiative to officially recognize arboreta at various levels of development, capacity and professionalism.
BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS
The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Greater Concord program is now accepting applications for the class of 2023. The program begins in September and continues with monthly sessions days through May 2023. Participants get to know different aspects of the city during daylong sessions that cover history, arts and culture, education, livable communities and smart growth, government and politics, the criminal justice system, economic development, communications and the media, and health and human services. Erica Canales has been named the new executive director of the Coos Economic Development Corp., succeeding Lise Howson, who has accepted a new position as the organization’s community outreach coordinator. Canales has over 25 years’ experience in local, state, federal and nonprofit organizations, and also owned a small business for 10 years.
CONSTRUCTION
M&M Construction Services of Bedford recently completed the fit-up of the newest Grainmaker restaurant in Woburn, Mass., the company’s third. M&M worked with McMahon Architects on the project.
EDUCATION
Pamela Carr of Portsmouth has been chosen as the new principal of the Seacoast School of Technology, Exeter, a school that allows students to earn college credits and certifications while participating in handson learning to prepare them for life after high school.




Keene State College has honored six women with its 32nd annual President’s Outstanding Women of New Hampshire awards. This year’s awards, with the theme, “Women Providing Healing/Promoting Hope,” recognizes contributions that positively impact the lives and well-being of people in their communities. The winners are: State of New Hampshire Award, Kirsten Durzy, director for the Vaccine Equity Branch; Monadnock Region Award, Mary E. Curtin Pierce, an infection preventionist at Cheshire Medical Center, and Tricia J. Zahn, director of community strategic partnerships at Center for Population Health at Cheshire Medical Center; Keene State College Faculty/Staff Award, Dr. Jeanelle Boyer, associate professor of public health at Keene State; Keene State College Student Award, Sara Getchell, a senior from Merrimack; President’s Award for Distinguished Service, the late Donna L. Coty, coordinator of the simulation lab for the Keene State Nursing Program, who died in 2021 at age 60, honored for her long service to the college community.


Keene State College has added three new members to its team: Marney Buss has joined as the new dean of students; Kat Dougherty joins as the assistant dean of students; and Paul Miller is now director of strategic communications and community relations.
ENGINEERING
CMA Engineers Inc., Portsmouth, has announced that Paul Schmidt has been appointed president of the company, succeeding Craig Musselman, who will continue as executive chair. Schmidt, a member of the CMA team for 27 years, is a civil and environmental engineer with expertise in solid waste and water and wastewater engineering. In addition, the company said Philip Corbett will serve as chief operating officer and senior vice president. Current Senior Vice President Bill Straub will continue with his current project and client service roles, while the day-to-day operational management of the firm will transition to Corbett, the company said.
TECHNOLOGY
An apartment complex on the east side of Manhattan is now using Stratham-based Position Imaging’s Smart Package Room, which is designed to help better manage the process of receiving and distributing packages delivered to buildings. The complex, at 210-220 E. 22nd St., consists of two buildings that are connected through a common corridor on the ground level. The company says its system reduces courier drop-off time to less than 10 seconds per package, removes staff interaction and eliminates packages cluttering the lobby area.

Shannon Bartolomucci of Dublin has joined St. Mary’s Bank as member experience and relationship manager at its Northwest Boulevard branch in Nashua. Bartolomucci’s previous banking experience included leadership roles at GFA Federal Credit Union, NBT Bank and Bank of America.
Portsmouth resident Brian Leader has joined Bangor Savings Bank as vice president, Main Street banking relationship manager. Leader brings over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry to his new role, most recently as a loan officer with People’s United Bank in Portsmouth.
Frederick Boucher, a private wealth advisor with Main Street Private Wealth Management, Nashua, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, has earned the 2021 Ameriprise Client Experience Award. The award is presented to an elite group of Ameriprise advisors who are recognized as leaders for their commitment to making a difference in the lives of their clients.
Amy Mavris has been promoted to vice president and marketing communications officer at Meredith Village Savings Bank. In this role, Mavris will supervise the communications team and serve as the marketing lead for company-wide projects. She started at MVSB as a student teller in high school and worked in many areas of the organization before joining the marketing department in 2013.
Ledyard National Bank has been selected to participate in the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston’s Equity Builder Program, which assists homebuyers with down payment and closing costs as well as homebuyer counseling and rehabilitation assistance.
Ledyard is eligible to receive up to $220,000 in 2022 through the Equity Builder Program depending on availability of funds.
NH Federal Credit Union has hired Rod Dauteuil as assistant vice president and compliance officer. He has over 35 years of experience in the industry.
Merrimack County Savings Bank has named Margot Elise Anderson of Manchester as vice president, commercial loan officer based out of the bank’s main office in downtown Concord.

Hooksett-based Merchants Fleet has hired Alex Coveney as director of strategic partnerships for enterprise level accounts in North America and Canada. A former business owner, Coveney also led numerous regional teams at Enterprise Holdings in addition to serving on the Enterprise Truck Rental Global Advisory Board.

Russell E. Toney has been elected to the board of directors for Albany International Corp. Since 2018, Toney has served as president of the Specialty Business Group at Dover Corporation.
NONPROFITS
Concord Community Music School has announced that Daniel Acsadi has been named its new executive director, second permanent executive director in the institution’s history, and will begin his tenure May 9.
Acsadi currently serves as director of education and community programs at the Powers Music School in Belmont, Mass. Before that, he was director of the Boston Classical Guitar Society.
CASA of New Hampshire, a nonprofit that trains volunteers to advocate for children experiencing abuse and neglect, is hosting its annual fundraising gala, CASA Cares: An Evening of Giving for New Hampshire’s Children, from 6 to 9 p.m. May 6 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown. This year, CASA Cares will feature a live auction, wine and spirits grab, heavy hors d’oeuvres and dessert. There will also be a virtual option for those who wish to view from home. Concord-based CATCH Neighborhood Housing has received a $25,000 grant from the Lincoln Financial Foundation in support of its collaborative housing education program, HOMEteam, a partnership of CATCH, Neighbor-Works Southern New Hampshire and Lakes Region Community Developers that provides participants with tools and education for purchasing, renting and maintaining a home.
The Crotched Mountain Foundation has named Craig Beck of Goffstown, chief operating officer at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Bedford, to its board of directors.
Step Up Parents, a nonprofit that offers financial assistance to relative caregivers who are surrogate parents to children whose parents struggle with substance use disorder, has received a $5,000 grant from the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction.
NH LAKES, a nonprofit dedicated to keeping New Hampshire’s lakes clean and healthy, has hired Erin Bresson as the organization’s business and development assistant.
REAL ESTATE
IAA Bank has named Misty Read to spearhead its commercial real estate business in the New England region. Read has 15 years of experience in commercial real estate, including five with EverBank, which TIAA acquired. All told, she’s been part of deal teams with more than $1.3 billion in funded volume, the bank said.
Northern Properties Realty Group has added agents Mariah Frisella and Jennifer Rosa to the team. Both will be focusing on single-family home sales and investment properties. Rosa will also have a focus on multifamily home sales.
Zachary Hawkins has joined Badger Peabody & Smith Realty as a sales associate in the firm’s Littleton office. Since late 2018, Hawkins has represented clients in over 100 transactions totaling $21 million.
James Prieto, director of real estate at Nashua-based Granite Commercial Real Estate, recently helped secure a West Lebanon site on retail hub Route 12A for a new franchise location for Jersey Mike’s Subs, which has been expanding around New Hampshire. Prieto represented the landlord in the transaction, and Jersey Mike’s was represented by Atlantic Retail.
Capital Regional Development Council, Concord, has announced that Chuck Gilboy has joined its team as business development and loan officer. Most recently, Gilboy was a loan officer with Grafton County Economic Development Council in Plymouth. Before that, he was a business advisor with the NH Small Business Development Center.

Laurie Fellows, director of environmental services at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, was named a NH Healthcare Hero and honored during a pinning ceremony on March 2 in recognition for her championing team members and the hospital. NH Healthcare Heroes recognizes the dedication, courage and commitment of individuals in the state’s healthcare community.
