
1. NH Healthcare Heroes, an awards program developed by the NH Sector Partnerships Initiative that recognizes the dedication, courage and commitment of healthcare professionals, recently crowned the winners for 2022: Laura “Beth” Nagy, NH Hospital, Concord; Ashley Douthart, HealthFirst Family Care Center, Franklin; Emilee Guyette, Cedarcrest Center for Children with Disabilities, Keene; Laurie Fellows, Cottage Hospital, Woodsville; Stacy Dionne, Lamprey Health Care, Raymond; Matt Bouchie, Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester; and the Entrance Screening Team at New London Hospital (pictured here).

2. The Center for Life Management (CLM) was awarded a $35,500 grant from the Alexander Eastman Foundation (AEF) in support of developing a new program called Healthy Aging for Older People with Mental Illness. This program will focus on helping people with severe and persistent mental illness by removing barriers that prevent treatment or recovery. 3. Meredith Village Savings Bank recently donated $25,000 to the Lakes Region Mental Health Center to support their mission of assisting vulnerable populations who need access to safe and stable housing in the Belknap and southern Grafton counties. The funds will support their programs and help finance the upkeep and expansion of the McGrath Street residence in Laconia, which provides safe housing for adults with severe and persistent mental illness.

4. Since the onset of the pandemic, Bank of America has donated $50,000, worth 100,000 meals, to the NH Food Bank to address food insecurity in the state. Bank of America has also distributed more than 38 million masks, 41,000 cases of hand sanitizer and 11 million gloves in local communities as part of its ongoing efforts to address health-related disparities accelerated by the pandemic. 5. Ron Covey, president and CEO of St. Mary’s Bank, was recently inducted into the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders, which recognizes those who have made a significant impact on the credit union movement at the local, state or national level. 6. Evernorth, a nonprofit organization that provides affordable housing and community investments in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, closed its third multi-investor fund worth $82.5 million in early March. The Housing New England Fund III will invest in 17 total developments, with seven in Maine, five in New Hampshire and five in Vermont, creating 702 affordable apartments in all. The first new homes will be available in Lebanon this August.
