OUTDOOR HOSPITALITY INVESTMENT COMPANY ACQUIRES TWO RV PARKS

Cedarline Outdoor Investment, a newly formed outdoor hospitality private investment company focused on the RV park industry, has made its first two acquisitions, and they’re both in New Hampshire.

Cedarline, whose launch was announced Jan. 26 by Miami-based investment firm Halmos Capital Partners, almost immediately announced the acquisition of its first two parks, one in Twin Mountain and the other in Littleton. Both White Mountains parks “represent the cornerstone of the platform which will continue to grow through acquisitions and operational improvements,” Cedarline said.

The company said it will continue to pursue the strategic acquisition of RV parks in desirable destinations throughout North America in creating a diversified portfolio of properties.


UNITIL UNVEILS NEW MOBILE COMMAND CENTER

Unitil has a new mobile command center to help during major storm emergencies. The 35-footlong, 11,000-pound unit recently arrived at the utility’s regional facility in Exeter. It will serve as a mobile office and centralized communications hub.

Unitil said the unit will reduce the time it takes to receive and process information from the field.

The unit will complement Unitil’s local Emergency Operations Centers and be available “during major storm emergencies when significant damage to electrical infrastructure is anticipated and large amounts of resources will be needed,” the utility said in a news release.


BREEZELINE BROADBAND SERVICES BEGIN IN SOMERSWORTH

Cable operator Breezeline is making good on its promise to expand following its rebranding, and has activated its first residential and business customers in Somer sworth, kicking off the company’s expansion initiative in New Hampshire.

In November, the Quincy, Mass.-based company formerly known as Atlantic Broadband, announced it would invest more than $80 million this fiscal year to expand its reach to nearly 70,000 additional homes and businesses in communities in New Hampshire and West Virginia.

In addition to Somersworth, in the coming months the company will provide service to the communities of Concord, Dover, Durham and Madbury in New Hampshire.

The services offered in Somersworth include Fiber-to-the-Home internet, TV and voice.


NORTHERN NH FIRMS MERGE TO CREATE BADGER PEABODY & SMITH

North Conway-based Badger Realty and Peabody & Smith Realty, which is based in Littleton, have merged, creating an agency with eight offices across northern New Hampshire that serves a three-state market.

Creation of the firm, to be known as Badger Peabody & Smith Realty, “was a natural progression” that “brings the best of our two brands together,” said Andy Smith, president of the newly formed company.

With Smith as president, Badger Realty managing partner Brenda Leavitt will continue at Badger Peabody & Smith Realty in a senior advisor role through May. Leavitt began her career with Badger Realty over 40 years ago, becoming a partner with founding owner Dick Badger.

The new Badger Peabody & Smith Realty has over 65 full-time agents, 21 staff members and eight offices in Berlin, Bretton Woods, Franconia, Holderness, Jackson, Littleton, North Conway and Plymouth.


CDM FITNESS ACQUIRES THREE MORE PLANET FITNESS LOCATIONS

CDM Fitness Holdings, Foxborough, Mass., has acquired a three-unit Planet Fitness franchisee with clubs in Leominster, Mass., Keene, NH, and Brattleboro, Vt. The acquisition also includes certain development rights.

The acquisition increases CDM’s club count to 55, it said, further solidifying it as the largest operator of Planet Fitness clubs in New England.

CDM now has 39 Planet Fitness locations in Massachusetts, two in New Hampshire, 13 in Rhode Island and one in Vermont.
