1. The Newburyport Bank Charitable Foundation has donated $50,000 to Exeter Hospital to assist them with expanding their pediatric care services. Due to an increased demand for pediatric services for children suffering from chronic conditions such as asthma, obesity, diabetes and mental health disorders, the hospital plans to raise $500,000 to ensure they continue to provide the high level of care their patients require. Newburyport Bank’s donation will go toward supporting those goals.

2. The Northeast Delta Dental Foundation recently awarded a $10,000 grant to Families First Health & Support Center in Portsmouth and Goodwin Community Health in Somersworth that will provide preventive, restorative and emergency dental care to their community health centers. The grant will help support patients who don’t have dental insurance with a discount on services if they meet income-eligibility guidelines.

Daniel Webster Council held its annual Granite State Outstanding Women’s Leadership Award celebration last month, where Elizabeth “Liz” Hitchcock, a partner with the Orbit Group and owner of The Bookery in Manchester, was honored with this year’s award. 4. Merrimack County Savings Bank (The Merrimack) has purchased $14,000 in tax credits from the NH Community Development Finance Authority in support of the Friends Program. The credits will help provide aid and relief for families experiencing homelessness in Greater Concord, with funds going toward the organization’s Home Stretch campaign, a three-part shelter expansion and renovation project. 5. The NH Bankers Association raised nearly $275,000 in donations during its first monthof-service event, #NHBanksGiveBack, held in October. Twenty-six member banks participated in the month-long volunteer celebration, where activities included collections for winter clothing and food pantries, community shred events, meal prep and service at shelters, veteran support, animal shelter support, walks for cancer, house painting for homeless and more. The donations will go toward food pantries, Boys and Girls Clubs, VNAs, cancer support, housing coalitions and several United Way chapters in the state.

6. The NH Business Finance Authority has honored five lenders with this year’s Granite State Awards for their exceptional work helping New Hampshire companies access the funds they need to grow their businesses. The recipients were: Deb Tessier of Bank of New Hampshire, CAP (Capital Access Program) Lender of the Year; Peter Rayno of Enterprise Bank, Veteran-Owned Business Loan of the Year; Frank Teas of Millyard Bank, Loan Guarantee of the Year; David Weed of Service Federal Credit Union, Bond Deal of the Year for the Sig Sauer expansion in Rochester; and Ron Magoon of Franklin Savings Bank, Com munity Impact Award for his work in revitalizing downtown Franklin.
