YWCA NEW HAMPSHIRE’S 2021 EMPOWERHER BREAKFAST

WHAT: The annual empowerHER fundraiser gathers YWCA supporters to celebrate the organization’s efforts over the last year, previews the year to come and honors women who exemplify the organization’s mission. Honorees include Dr. Loretta Brady, the creator of Requity Labs at Saint Anselm College, and Mary Rose Wainaina, a UNH student who has worked with the YWCA in the community to make a difference in racial justice. All proceeds benefit the YWCA’s continued outreach and support to the community during the pandemic, including the development of classroom and program space for the Amiko youth program and adult education classes; programs and services to expand YWCA’s racial justice programs; and financial support to survivors of domestic violence and their family members.

BIA’S 108TH ANNUAL DINNER AND AWARDS CELEBRATION

WHAT: BIA’s Annual Dinner, presented by Eversource, is BIA’s premier event, drawing over 700 business, political and opinion leaders from around New Hampshire. This year, they’ll be honoring three individuals with BIA’s coveted Lifetime Achievement Award, and one New Hampshire nonprofit with BIA’s NH Advantage Award for its work in enhancing NH’s special character and quality of life. It’s a can’t-miss celebration and the best networking event of the year, with access to other business leaders throughout the state. There will also be a livestream of the event broadcast simultaneously.

STAY WORK PLAY’S RISING STARS AWARDS RECEPTION

WHAT: Stay Work Play and NH Public Radio are hosting an awards ceremony to announce the seven winners of this year’s Rising Stars Awards, an initiative that celebrates and recognizes New Hampshire’s remarkable young people and the businesses that go the extra mile to recruit and retain them. The awards reception, presented by Eversource, will be a hybrid event, with limited inperson capacity and a live broadcast from the Currier Museum of Art. In-person attendees can browse the open museum galleries, listen to live music, and enjoy food and cash bars. Daniela Allee, NHPR’s lead for NH’s first and only Spanish news service “¿Qué Hay de Nuevo, New Hampshire?”, will serve as master of ceremonies.
