 W.H. Bagshaw Company, a Nashua-based manufacturer of precision-turned parts to the medical, aerospace and defense industries, has acquired Gryphon Bat Company from Nashua Silver Knights Assistant Coach Ariel Ramos. Gryphon is a maker of custom, premium hardwood bats. The company has been named the Walter Bat Company, in honor of Walter Henry Bagshaw, founder of the firm, which is in its fifth generation of family ownership The acquisition “is the culmination of two passions in our family: entrepreneurship and baseball,” said Aaron Bagshaw. The bats are manufactured at its existing location at 1 Pine Street Extension in Nashua. In addition to providing bats to local youth, recreation and semi-pro teams and leagues for play, the business also crafts commemorative award and trophy bats, limited edition bats, custom bats made to customer specifications that can be personalized with colors and engraving, and carries stock training and hitting bats, apparel and gifts.
