WHAT: NECBC President John Gulliver will open events at 10:30 a.m. Reflecting the New England–Canada Business Consortium’s mission to strengthen cross-border economic ties, one panel will explore how business leaders, founders and researchers can collaborate on AI-driven opportunities. A second panel will discuss cross-border tension on business transactions, the quest for new trade partners and the U.S.-Canada Investment Climate. TD Bank New England Regional President Sheryl McQuade will introduce a fireside chat.

FUNDRAISER

GRANITE VNA ANNUAL PASSION FOR CARING FUNDRAISER TO BENEFIT HOSPICE HOUSE

WHEN: Thursday, May 7, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

WHERE: The Barn at Bull Meadow, 63 Bog Road, Concord

WHAT: This annual event will feature remarks from agency leaders and family members of those who have received hospice care. The silent auction will include Red Sox tickets, theater tickets and luxury travel; locally made art and handcrafted treasures; services; jewelry; and more. This year’s recipient of The Kay Sidway Award is Dartmouth Health Children’s pediatrician Tessa LaFortune-Greenberg. Jay and Jenny Mullins of Hopkinton will receive Granite VNA’s Donor Recognition Award. Enjoy music and refreshments; proceeds will benefit Granite VNA’s Hospice House.

CONFERENCE

NHPR’S 4TH ANNUAL BY DEGREES CLIMATE SUMMIT

WHEN: Friday, May 8, noon to 4 p.m. (doors open at noon, program begins 12:45 p.m.)

WHERE: Manchester Community College, 1066 Front St., Manchester

WHAT: This summit, hosted by NH Public Radio’s Jason Moon, will feature a solutions-based discussion stemming from NHPR’s “Safe to Drink” podcast. The summit will examine water quality and environmental pollutants like PFAS chemicals and how communities are enacting change through policy, storytelling and science. The event includes an interactive Q&A session with journalists and community organizers who will share how people are organizing and advocating for healthier environments.

COST: $10 minimum donation; students, teachers, nonprofit reps. can attend free.

ADELE BOUFFORD BAKER TO BE HONORED AT MOORE CENTER GARDEN PARTY

WHAT: The Moore Center will honor lifelong Manchester resident and local business owner Adele Boufford Baker at its 25th annual Garden Party. For decades, Boufford Baker has volunteered at Make-A-Wish, Palace Theatres, the Manchester Community Music School and others. An incorporator and former board member of Catholic Medical Center, she is a Paul Harris Fellow of the Queen City Rotary Club, and Knight of the National Order of Mérite for her lifelong contributions.

WHAT: This Central NH Chamber of Commerce event is hosted by Ashland Woman’s Club and sponsored by Service Credit Union. The General Federation of Women’s Clubs is dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.
