CONCORD: The NH Community Loan Fund’s Community-Driven Economic Empowerment (C-DEE) Grant Program is now accepting applications through March 9. The one-time capacity-building grant is designed to help businesses become financially resilient and self-sufficient. This year, businesses may apply for up to $5,000 to be used for computer hardware and software, and professional services such as bookkeeping and digital marketing. BELMONT: Evernorth Rural Ventures closed a $5.3 million allocation of New Markets Tax Credits (NMTCs) for the adaptive reuse of the vacant, historic Gale School building in Belmont, NH. Since 2006, the Belmont community has made efforts to restore and repurpose the historic Gale School. With help from the Lakes Region Community Developers, the project will now transform the vacant building into a community facility home that houses a new child care center operated by the Boys and Girls Club of Central NH, as well as a family resource program center with social and community services for Lakes Region Community Services. The restoration is slated to be finished sometime this year.

PORTSMOUTH: PlaneSense Founder, President and CEO, George Antoniadis, was awarded the Kenn Ricci Lifetime Aviation Entrepreneur Award at the 23rd Annual Living Legends of Aviation Awards. The January 23rd event, hosted by actor John Travolta, the organization’s official ambassador of aviation, showcased Antoniadis’ journey as a young aviation enthusiast in Greece to later founding PlaneSense in 1995, which is now one of the nation’s top fractional ownership programs. PlaneSense has grown to include more than 600 team members, two leading-edge maintenance facilities, and a comprehensive pilot training program.

CONCORD: The University System of New Hampshire (USNH) and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire (CNNH) announced that CNNH will operate two child care centers, one at Keene State College (KSC) and another at Plymouth State University (PSU). PSU’s Center for Young Children and Families and KSC’s Child Development Center, serving children of KSC employees and students and families from surrounding communities, have plans to open on Sept. 1, 2026.

MANCHESTER: Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) is helping to accelerate student success and meet workforce demand with the expansion of the 3-ear Applied Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a program that allows learns to earn a bachelor’s degree in less time while also gaining hands-on experience. In addition, SNHU has also launched its Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science program for students pursuing careers in health care, research and biotechnology. To support this, a new biology lab will open in the fall to allow for hands-on experimentation, biofabrication coursework and future research initiatives across the health sciences.
