CONCORD: ApprenticeshipNH, a workforce training program of the Community College System of NH (CCSNH), and A Place to Grow LLC, a nature-based early learning center, have collaborated to create an Early Childhood Education Pre-Apprenticeship Program for high school students who are at least 14 years old, as well as recent high school graduates and career-changers. The program’s goal is to encourage young people to pursue careers in early childhood education, a field facing significant staffing shortages in New Hampshire. The apprenticeship is designed to build additional child care capacity by training more child care professionals to start and operate businesses in New Hampshire.
NASHUA: The Front Door Agency is launching a new Landlord Incentive Program in partnership with the City of Nashua’s Housing Trust Fund in order to provide financial benefits and support to local landlords who rent to individuals and families at risk of homelessness. The program seeks to increase access to affordable housing and reduce barriers for low-income and voucher-holding tenants. MANCHESTER: Mayor Jay Ruais announced earlier this month that 53 formerly homeless veterans have now been housed since the launch of his initiative to effectively end veterans’ homelessness in Manchester. The goal is to achieve this by the end of his term in January 2026, thanks to close collaboration with community partners at Harbor Care, the VA and Easterseals. Since June 2024, 55 individuals have been successfully housed, 47 vital documents such as IDs and birth certificates have been provided and 17 people have secured employment.
